Ranger 4.0 motor swap
I have a 4.0 ranger motor and was curious if it can be mated to the VW bus tranny. I saw Ford 4.0 SOHC on the kennedy adpater list and was wondering if this was the same motor.

Is this too much motor for a VW? I plan to build a bjaj bug that would mostly be for the sand. Just not sure if it's over kill or not.

If it's too much what is a good alternative? I would like to stick with EFI water cooled.

I am new to the group and I also want to do a 4.0 Ford swap with a bus transaxle? Only I would like to do it as a mid engine swap? But I have noticed several people have posted requesting the same information as we want! But no one has responded? This is a engine swap
fourm right? You would think some one would have information on this subject???? This is why I have not posted yet!

BTW: Have you checked out Kennedy for you adapter plate?
