Re: 71 Ghia

I went through all the wiring this weekend. Pulled out a whole ton of wires that didn't connect to anything and then started testing one item at a time and hooking it up properly. got it all finished. Now i just have to get my license plates and hit the road!

As far as the rear deck....i thinking one of those classic looking luggage racks to sit right above the motor....make a sleeper out of it. The rest of the outside of the car is very origanal! The inside has newer miata seats in it and a few extra gauges under the dash but for the most part is origanal

Re: 71 Ghia

Well i've been driving it all this week now and no heat problems at all. I will be driving twice as far tommorow so that will be the big test! I don't expect any issues. I put a second temp gauge in to measure the temp going right into the radiator and it is doing just fine. My engine runs right around 95 degrees C at the engine and slightly lower then that by the time it gets to the front in the radiator! It is such a blast to drive! And i get comments everywhere i go with it!

Re: 71 Ghia

Well i solf my Ghia Last year but the guy drove it from Colorado to Arizona just fine.

I had a 2.0 Jetta motor in mine. It was hooked together using a Kennedy mounting adapter. I used a radiator in the front from a hyndia I don't remember which hyndia i got it from. It had an electric fan that would kick in at the right temp which was set by an adjustable temp switch.

The ECU for the car was mounted under the rear seat. I think i should have hooked up the O2 sensor stuff because mine would backfire when i let off the gas so i think it wasn't quite running as clean as it could have.

I have pics I could send if you e-mail me. andrew.hoyt@ace-fisher.com
