bryan mcfadden bids westlife goodbye!!!!
9 MARCH 2004
The world of pop has been left stunned after Bryan McFadden revealed that he is leaving Westlife. The heartthrob singer says he wants to spend more time with his wife Kerry and their two young children.

Kian, Nicky, Mark and Shane have vowed to carry on without their bandmate, who made the official announcement that he's leaving at a press conference Tuesday. "It's to do with me. It's hard to juggle two lives when you've got a family," he said.

The lads are all set to climb aboard their newly acquired Gulfstream jet for an 18-month world tour. But the prospect of long periods away from his family was apparently more than Bryan could bear. Up until now Kerry has been able to join him on his travels, but the pretty 23-year-old has been inundated with job offers since winning reality TV show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Industry insiders say that she and her husband may team up to co-host a television show together. A number of deals are said to be in the offing, including a new talent show with Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell. And Bryan is also expected to launch a solo pop career.

He will have his work cut out to match the record-breaking success of Westlife, however. Since the boys exploded onto the charts in 1999, they have notched up five number one albums and twelve number one singles.

Westlife Announce The Departure Of Bryan McFadden

Westlife today announce that in the tradition of all great groups that they are
now a four piece. Nicky, Kian, Shane and Mark are currently rehearsing for
their massive sold out arena tour of Europe and South East Asia.

The band have taken time out from their rehearsals to announce the amicable
departure of member Bryan McFadden. Beginning on the 29th of March at the
Belfast Odessey the tour will see the band perform in excess of 70 shows across
Europe and South East Asia in just over 4 months ending in August. Westlife have
often rehearsed as a four piece so any adjustments needed are minor.

Nicky, Kian, Mark, Shane and Bryan McFadden have decided that this is the ideal
moment for Bryan to leave Westlife. Bryan has come to a point in his life where
he feels he can no longer give Westlife the 100% commitment needed. He will be
spending time at home developing other aspects of his life.

Westlife are obviously devastated by this news but have come to terms with
Bryan's decision. Since their launch in 1999 the band have had a very special
close bond and are more like brothers than band-mates. Westlife are now united
as four and are just confirming plans for their next studio album after their
World Arena tour scheduled for release sometime this Autumn. The next album will
be an album of duets with A-list global superstars, more details to follow
shortly.

Westlife are the biggest pop band in the world right now and their success to
date are unrivalled. They are the only recording artists in the history of the
awards to win the prestigious Record of the Year three times. They have
performed to over 3 million fans on three sell-out arena tours to become the
biggest selling arena tour act ever. They have sold over 32 million records
globally; had five multi-platinum albums in the UK alone; scored a record
breaking 12 UK number ones, picked up two BRIT Awards, an MTV Europe Award and 6
Irish Meteor Awards (Best Pop Act for 4 years consecutively).

'Turnaround', Westlife's fifth album (including last years Unbreakable The
Greatest Hits) went straight into the number one spot in its first week of
release in the UK and has sold over 4 million copies globally in under 6 months.

The group are naturally sorry to see Bryan go and these developments have come
as a shock to them. Nicky, Kian, Shane and Mark will continue to give Westlife
and their fans all their very best. Westlife would like to stress to all the
fans that they need all their support at this time more than ever but not to
worry, Westlife are here to stay. The band look forward to seeing them all
again on tour very soon. Bryan added that he expects the group to continue their
spectacular success and carry on for many years yet.

BMG Records are fully behind Westlife.

Westlife are Unbreakable.

Fans are absolutely depressed and lonely upon hearing the news. I can't really explain what i feel. Bryan is one hell of a performer, he's just great and thinking bout Westlife performing without Bryan wold mean something different, it means that we'll miss a whole lot! Bryan the funny guy, the talker, the guy who makes funny faces, someone who gives his 110% on stage. Just thinking bout it gives me a glimpse of what will happen.

I bet they all cried, not just Egan *haven't seen it*.

I respect his decision, he know what's good for him and for his family. In my heart, I know that he doesn't wanna leave us, he just want to give an extra time for hi family. I hope all of us will understand what he did. He's still the same old Bryan that entertain us.

westlife:And then there were four.....

Sad news came for music fans today when Westlife announced the amicable departure of Bryan McFadden from the band, but the boys have no plans to split and will continue as a four-piece.

As Bryan McFadden departs Westlife the remaining boys intend to solider on and confirmed plans for the next studio album.

They appealed to fans for their support, "We want Westlife to last. It's in the hands of our fans. We need their support right now and so does Bryan."

At the packed press conference in the Four Seasons Hotel, Bryan announced "it's got absolutely nothing to do with the four boys. They're my four best friends. They understand".

The news came as a shock to the band who are sorry to see him go. Kian Egan read a tearful tribute, "We understand and respect your decision. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you".

Bryan added "It's been very difficult to juggle two lives and especially since Lily was born, I haven't been able to commit 100 percent to Westlife or to my family. I felt it was the right time to leave. Now I want to concentrate on my family".

Bryan dismissed rumours that he's planning to work with Kerry and announced he's gonna be a house husband for the time being!

There are no plans to replace Bryan in the band. Westlife have often rehearsed as a four-piece so any adjustments needed are minor.

Shane Filan is adamant "We're gonna go on. It's gonna be hard, but we've a job to do".

Devastated fans gathered outside the Four Seasons hoping to say goodbye to Bryan. Grace Moore (16) is Westlife's self-proclaimed number one fan. She said "it's over now. It's just such a shock. I'll continue to support them, but it won't be the same". Aisling O'Leary added "I think they'll break up after one more album".

***Another news***

Irish boy band Westlife have been left "devastated" after their pop
pin-up Bryan McFadden quit the band.

McFadden told distraught fans that he wanted to spend more time with
his singer wife, Kerry, and their two daughters, Molly and Lilly Sue.

He said: "I feel it's the right time to concentrate on my family and be
at home."

In an emotionally charged meeting, the star told stunned fellow
Westlife members, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Shane Filan, that
he would not join them on their upcoming 62-date world tour.

A friend of the singer revealed: "It was an incredibly tough decision
to make. He and Kerry talked for hours before he finally decided. And
guiding his decision was the fact that he wants to spend more time with
Kerry.

"The rest of the band were devastated when he broke the news. It never
bodes well when an important member of the band leaves - and this could
be the beginning of the end for the group."

Westlife have sold an amazing 32 million records worldwide in the five
years they have been together.

TEARS AS BRYAN QUITS

The four remaining members of Westlife have choked back tears at an emotional farewell to bandmate Bryan McFadden.

McFadden has quit the band to spend more time with his wife Kerry and their daughters Molly and Lily Sue.

At a press conference to announce the move, McFadden described his former colleagues as his "four best friends in the world".

A spokesman said the group is "devastated" and McFadden added: "It's got absolutely nothing to do with the guys".

The boys broke down in tears as singer Kian Egan read out a farewell and thank you statement for McFadden, telling him: "We understand your decision."

Breaking down in tears, Kian added: "From the bottom of our hearts, we love you.

The band have been discussing the move and collectively agreed that it is the "ideal moment" for McFadden to leave, saying he can "no longer give the kind of committement that is needed".

Bandmate Nicky Byrne said: "We just want Bryan to be happy... but we are still a band and we feel we have got a lot of unfinished business to do yet."

The boys behind hits like Flying Without Wings, Queen Of My Heart and Uptown Girl, made an announcement in the Irish capital, Dublin.

The band denied rumours they are splitting up, but McFadden, 24, who is married to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! queen Kerry, has left.

Westlife: The beginning of the end?

McFadden could be planning to team up with Kerry for joint TV work instead of heading out on the road for major Westlife tour.

Westlife have notched up 13 number ones but their new single - Obvious - is currently at number ten after it entered the charts at number three.
The singers broke records after emerging on the scene in May 1999, when Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan and McFadden became the only act to reach number one with their first seven releases.

A record-breaking 11 out of the band's first 13 singles entered the chart at number one.

But this year they were beaten to the top spot by pop star Peter Andre, when his re-released song Mysterious Girl topped the singles charts.

Some believe the future of the band could be in doubt now that heart-throb McFadden, who has two children with the former Atomic Kitten singer, has quit.

Here's an article from the Yahoo! music news site:

Westlife "devastated"
(Tuesday March 09, 2004 01:57 PM)

Westlife have confirmed they are now a quartet, following the departure of Bryan McFadden.

The boyband announced the news today, after a morning of speculation, at a press conference in Dublin. They admitted to being "devastated" at McFadden's decision.

McFadden confirmed he wished to spend more time with his family, calling the other members "my four best friends in the world".

He explained: "It's to do with me. It's hard to juggle two lives when you've got a family. I want to co concentrate on my family and being at home as much as I can."

A spokesman for the band commented on the news, telling the BBC: "In the tradition of all great groups, Westlife are now a four piece."

Meanwhile, fellow singer Kian Egan read out a letter to their departing friend, saying: "We have shared our dreams. We understand and respect your decision. From the bottom of our hearts we love you."

And here's a few more from the Yahoo! and Sky news sites:

Westlife becomes a quartet as McFadden quits

DUBLIN (AFP) - The hit-making Irish boy band Westlife became a quartet after one of its members, Bryan McFadden, said he was bidding adieu to the group to spend more time with his family.

"I just feel it's the right time to concentrate on my family and being at home as much as I can," McFadden, 24, a father of two who has already embarked on a solo career, told reporters in Dublin.

The four remaining members of Westlife -- Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan -- said they plan to stick together, and encouraged fans to keep supporting the group.

Established in 1998, Westlife was among the most successful boy bands which emerged in the late 1990s, selling more than 30 million records worldwide. Their most recent hit was a cover of the Barry Manilow tune "Mandy".

There Will Be 'Westlife' After Bryan
A tearful Westlife have vowed to carry on despite Bryan McFadden quitting the band to spend more time with his family. The 24-year-old singer and father-of-two said that after six years he felt the time was right to spend more time at home and watch his two young daughters grow up.

Announcing his departure in Dublin, Bryan said it had become very difficult to juggle life with the band and his family.

"It's a huge commitment and to be honest for the last year, especially since Lily was born, I haven't been able to commit 100% to Westlife and I haven't been able to commit 100% to my family," he said.

"It wasn't fair on either.

He said the rest of the band, Kian Egan, 23, Mark Feehily, 23, Nicky Byrne, 25, and Shane Filan, 24, were like brothers to him and he would continue to support them.

Since emerging into the pop world five years ago, the Irish group have had a record-breaking 12 number one singles and sold 30 million records.

But the remaining four are adamant they will continue.

Although they admitted they were "devastated" by the news, they called it an amicable split and urged fans to support them now more than ever.

Reading a statement to Bryan on behalf of the rest of the band, Kian said: "We have a enjoyed some unbelievable times throughout the years and will always hold them and you very close to our hearts.

"We have shared laughter, tears, success, weddings and babies, but most of all we've shared our dreams."

They admitted Bryan's departure had been a complete shock but insisted no-one would be replacing him.

"We are very, very sad about Bryan's decision but we have to struggle on, you know. We have to get up to the top of that mountain no matter what anybody says," said Kian.

"We have devoted our lives to this band and this is about passion. We love this band so much and all we want to do is continue."

Tears As Bryan Quits 'Devastated' Westlife
The four remaining members of Westlife choked back the tears as they bade an emotional farewell to bandmate Bryan McFadden.McFadden, 24, has quit the band to spend more time with his wife Kerry, recent winner of I'm A Celebrity..., and their daughters Molly and Lily Sue.

At a press conference, McFadden described the remaining band members as his "four best friends in the world".

A spokesman said the group is "devastated" but would continue as a foursome.

McFadden said: "It's got absolutely nothing to do with the guys.

"I haven't really been able to commit 100% to Westlife and I haven't been able to commit to my family so I kind of felt it was unfair on both."

"I just felt it was the right time for me to concentrate on my family and other things in my life as well," he added.

The boys broke down in tears as singer Kian Egan read out a farewell and thank you statement for McFadden, telling him: "We understand your decision."

Breaking down in tears, Kian added: "From the bottom of our hearts, we love you."

The band have been discussing the move and collectively agreed now is the "ideal moment" for McFadden to leave.

Bandmate Nicky Byrne said: "We just want Bryan to be happy... but we are still a band and we feel we have got a lot of unfinished business to do yet."

The boys behind hits like Flying Without Wings, Queen Of My Heart and Uptown Girl, made the announcement in the Irish capital, Dublin.

Rumours circulated that McFadden could be planning to team up with Kerry for joint TV work instead of heading out on the road for major Westlife tour.

But the singer told reporters: "To be honest with you, I have absolutely nothing lined up. I'm not even gonna think about what I'm gonna do for a long time."

Westlife have notched up 13 Number Ones but their new single Obvious is currently at number ten after it entered the charts at number three.

The show goes on

Westlife's summer concert at Powderham Castle will go ahead in August, despite the decision of band member Bryan McFadden to quit the group. But it could be their final concert.

Bryan has decided he needs to spend more time with his wife, former Atomic Kitten and I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! winner Kerry, and their two young daughters.

There were fears among the thousands of Devon fans that the split could mean an end to the much heralded concert due to take place in the castle grounds on August 2.

But today, Tim Faulkner, the estate manager, said: "The show will go on," - and he was backed up by John Hessenthaler, the man who is promoting Westlife's block-busting UK tour.

Mr Hessenthaler said: "I have spoken to the band's management and Westlife will not be splitting up as a band but are continuing. The positive news is that the group will release a new single in May.

"Take That toured without Robbie Williams, and the Spice Girls toured after Geri Halliwell left.

"Historically, when this tends to happen, bands later call it a day. It may be that Westlife will call it a day after Powderham. They tend to finish on a high."

The news that the concert will go ahead was welcomed with excited delight by the group's many fans.

Topsham Westlife fan Clair Drew, 23, said: "I'm very sad to hear the news today that Bryan McFadden is leaving the band. However, I still will be going to see the concert in August at Powderham Castle.

"Obviously, having a wife and children, he wants to spend more time with them, and there's nothing wrong with that."

Melissa Kelly, 19, of Newton Abbot, said: "I have been a Westlife fan since the beginning and I've got all their albums. Bryan leaving won't make a difference, I'll still like their music. I wish him all the best with his new life."

Westlife are confirming plans for their next studio album, scheduled for release this autumn, which includes duets with other artists.

The news of Bryan's departure was broken at a special conference called in Dublin yesterday, where the group confirmed they would be continuing as a four-piece.

A spokesman for the band's record label said: "Nicky, Kian, Mark, Shane and Bryan McFadden have decided that this is the ideal moment for Bryan to leave Westlife. Bryan has come to a point in his life where he feels he can no longer give Westlife the 100 per cent commitment needed. He will be spending time at home developing other aspects of his life."

Tickets are still available for Westlife's Powderham Castle performance on 08700 722169.

Re: bryan mcfadden bids westlife goodbye!!!!
Why did you have to go now, Bryan?

Belfast gig should be start of farewell tour, say heartbroken fans

Disappointed Westlife fans today said Bryan McFadden was wrong to quit the band before the forthcoming tour.

Bryan (23), who announced his departure during a tearful Press conference yesterday, will not be with the rest of the group when they kick off their European and South East Asia tour in Belfast later this month.

However, it is expected that the father-of-two will accompany the band to the Odyssey Arena to watch them play.

Bryan said he was leaving to spend more time with Jungle Queen wife Kerry and daughters Molly and Lily-Sue and described his six years with the group as "amazing".

The remaining members of Westlife broke down and cried yesterday as the Dubliner bid them an emotional farewell.

But angry fans said they felt the singer had let them down and should have used the tour as an opportunity to say goodbye to them.

One Scottish fan who contacted the Belfast Telegraph said she was planning to travel to Belfast for the concert on March 29.

The 36-year-old fan, called Morag, said she had followed Westlife all over Ireland and the UK for the past six years.

"When I heard the news I was gobsmacked and full of disbelief that this could be happening," she said.

"I feel that if Bryan McFadden had any loyalty towards his fans he would make this his farewell tour.

"I am coming all the way from Scotland on March 28 and as much as I like the other guys, I have to say that Bryan made the band and now I am not looking forward to this concert any more.

"I also think Louis Walsh should make Bryan stay just till the end of this tour."

However, the band promised fans that they would put on a spectacular show without Bryan.

Kian Egan said: "It will be hard for us to stand on stage as four instead of five, but we will get up there and prove that we can do this.

"It will be the best tour yet."

A spokeswoman for Aiken Promotions, who are bringing Westlife back to the Odyssey Arena this month, said that while it was sad news that Bryan had left the band, the shows would go on as usual.

"Aiken Promotions are obviously disappointed that Bryan has decided to leave, but in the true spirit of showbiz, the shows must and will go on."

The strain of being separated from his family had been taking its toll on the young father for some time now and for the last month he had been unhappy in the band.

It is understood that, unlike the rest of the band, Bryan had not been planning to stay in the Culloden Hotel in Co Down during the band's stay in Belfast, but was planning to drive back to Dublin to be with Kerry and his children.

When You're Looking Like That

Lyrics rewritten by Lauren and Leah

He's 6ft tall with brown hair and bright blue eyes
Everybody who's staring wouldn't believe that this guy loved Kez
We should have known that we were wrong
When we thought that Ki and Nix were leaving
But we thought we'd never miss you until you'd gone

Guess we failed to love you
And you're taking it out tonight

How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that
We can't believe that you just walked away
Now we cant get you back
We don't wanna get lost
We don't wanna love Westlife without you
How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that?!

He's all dressed up, and ready to leave the band,
We'll go and chase him, down those Dublin streets,
If only we could take control,
But he's out of our reach, forever
A while ago he was on GMTV,
It's so ironic that we had to lose you to see,

That we failed to love you
And you're taking it out tonight,

How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that
We can't believe that you just walked away
Now we cant get you back
We don't wanna get lost
We don't wanna love Westlife without you
How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that?!

We won't ever forget you,
We won't even wanna try,
But how can you just leave us now,
When you're looking like that?

How can you just up and leave us? (When you're looking like that)
We can't believe that you just walked away
Now we can't get you back, we're lost,
we don't wanna love Westlife without you
(love Westlife without you)
How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that
We can't believe that you just walked away
Now we cant get you back
We don't wanna get lost
We don't wanna love Westlife without you
How can you up and leave us now
When you're looking like that?!

Bryan managing a new band tipped for big time

Former Westlife star Bryan McFadden has been secretly managing a rock band for the past year and plans to launch them on to the music scene this summer.

Bryan, 24, talent spotted South African group Franklin while on honeymoon in Sun City in 2002.

He was "blown away" by their music and signed them up. But he kept the deal under wraps because he didn't want to be seen working with a rival band.

Bryan has been bankrolling them and has already shelled out more than £300,000 on wages, travel and recording costs.

He said: "Franklin are a brilliant band with a great sound which is why I am backing them.

"It's a very exciting time for them at the moment and hopefully everything will go to plan. The music I want to do won't be in competition with Westlife either.

"Franklin do rock music which is different to Westlife and my own solo stuff will be different again."

He moved them from their Johannesburg home to Ireland early last year and hopes they will break into the Irish, UK and European music markets.

Bryan announced last week that he was quitting boy band Westlife to go solo and spend more time with I'm A Celebrity winner wife Kerry and daughters Molly and Lily Sue.

He told distraught fans: "I just feel it's the right time to concentrate on my family and being at home as much as I can."

But his new career move will mirror singer Ronan Keating's.

He announced in August 1999 that he was quitting Boyzone to go solo then went on to co-manage Westlife.

Bryan has been busy writing and producing songs with Franklin.

He has already showcased the band to family and friends including Westlife at Precious nightclub in Belfast.

Major record companies including BMG, Universal and Polydor are interested and insiders are tipping Franklin for the big time.

Singer Bryan will co-manage them with best friend Mark Murphy. Mark said: "They are definitely up there in the league of play and will be huge. They love Ireland."

A friend of the band said: "They can't believe their luck. They are on the brink of achieving what they have been dreaming about for years.

"Nobody imagined things would turn out how they have. Everyone has put a lot of hard work and time into the band and now it looks as if all that has finally paid off."

Westlife, who were on the eve of an American tour when Bryan, quit have vowed to go on.

They have been one of the world's most successful boy bands.

They topped the charts for the past five years with 12 number one hits and sold 320 million records worldwide.

Bryan: My west-life sentence

Westlife star Bryan McFadden says quitting the band felt like being released from prison.

The 23-year-old singer admits he grew sick of being told what to do in his five years with the lads.

He said: "It was strange when I woke up on Wednesday.

"Then I knew leaving was the right thing to do. I didn't have to do anything for Westlife and I could do what I wanted to do. It felt so good. It was like being released from prison."

Bryan now plans to pursue a solo career and spend more time with wife Kerry, winner of I'm A Celebrity, and their girls.

A song he's written has been selected as Ireland's Eurovision entry and Bryan added: "I dreamed of going to Eurovision. It's something I'm proud of."

You've blundered, Bryan

Westlife manager Louis Walsh has warned that Bryan McFadden will regret leaving the hugely successful boyband.

Outspoken Walsh says he doubts that Bryan can carry off a successful and lucrative solo career.

And that's despite claiming he could never replace Bryan in the Irish fivesome as he is too good.

The Popstars judge even reckons Bryan's I'm A Celebrity winner wife Kerry had told him he was making a 'big mistake'.

Bryan, 24, shocked the pop world when he quit the band last week after five years to spend more time with Kerry and their daughters Molly, three, and Lily Sue, 13 months.

Louis said: 'Kerry was devastated he left. She didn't want him to do it. It's a great band and he could make a lot more money.'

Re: bryan mcfadden bids westlife goodbye!!!!
We begged Bry to stay

Westlife's Nicky Byrne tried to persuade Bryan McFadden to see a counsellor to get him to stay in the group.

Nicky has lifted the lid on secret negotiations between the remaining band members and Bryan during a 72-hour lock-in at Nicky's Dublin home as they tried to stop him quitting.

He says the bizarre suggestion was a last-gasp bid to iron out any differences Bryan might have with his bandmates.

Nicky said: 'He told us on the Thursday that he wanted to quit. That was a huge bombshell, the last thing I expected.

'The band spent all of Friday, Saturday and Sunday locked in my house with our manager, Louis Walsh. It was like the Northern Ireland peace process.

'We were locked in the room for days trying to stop Bryan from leaving and find out what was really bothering him.

'We even asked if there were problems at home. He just told us he didn't want to be in a band anymore.

'I offered him counselling. I told the lads, 'This is just like a marriage and if a marriage is going down the tubes you'd see a counsellor.

'Westlife is more or less like a marriage, so let's see a counsellor and see if we can work out what is bothering Bryan.' But his mind was made up.'

The group haven't seen Bryan since he walked out of Dublin's Four Seasons hotel last week during a Press conference to announce he was quitting.

But they insist they are looking forward to new life as a four-piece.

Nicky, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan are planning a duets album for November featuring Motown legends Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, Donna Summer and Daniel Bedingfield.

And Nicky said they won't welcome Bryan back with open arms if he realised he'd made a terrible mistake. Nicky said: 'In a way, Bryan going is maybe a blessing in disguise because we'll be doing the duets as a four-piece with some of the world's top artists.

'That might ease Westlife fans into the new line-up. The one I'm looking forward to working with the most is Lionel Richie. We've swapped ideas. It would be great to do a classic Lionel song.

'Some might say we are replacing Bryan with Lionel, but it's just the four of us on tour. And Bryan lives minutes from me, so we'll see each other. He called us up when he saw us on Ireland's Late Late Show on Friday and said it was the strangest thing watching the four of us.

'He is going through ups and downs wondering if he did the right thing. But the decision's made.We won't be standing with open arms if he asks to come back.

'Maybe in three or four months he'll regret it and, of course, we'd talk to him.'

Nicky believes Bryan has already laid the foundations for a solo career.

But he is sure Bryan will have his work cut out reaching the heights of Westlife.

Nicky said: 'I'm not going to slag off Bryan's chances but it is going to be difficult. Bryan knows he'll have to put his heart and soul into it.

'He's probably going to take a year off first to look after the kids and record some stuff in Dublin. I don't think he'll sing ballads. It'll be something off the cuff.'

Next up,Westlife are planning to sing at this summer's Live+Loud festival.

They pulled out of the Scots festival two years ago to watch Ireland play Spain in the World Cup on TV. In the end, the gig was called off due to a waterlogged site. Now they hope to make amends by playing Hampden Park on June 20 alongside Blue, Sugababes and Michelle McManus. Nicky beamed: 'We'd love it. We need our fans' support more than ever now. I want to reassure them we will be around for a long time.'

Re: bryan mcfadden bids westlife goodbye!!!!

Westlife look like they're still enjoying the good life despite the loss of Bryan McFadden.

The Irish bandís four remaining members laughed as they relaxed over beers.

The lads, Kian Egan, Shane Filan, Mark Feehilly and Nicky Byrne, were taking a break from rehearsals in Dublin.

Bryan, 23, left after a series of bust-ups to spend more time with his Iím A Celebrity winner wife Kerry and two kids.
