Where's The Math ?????? Interact Reply Quote Report To Mod Last Posts Ignore User Global Ignore Whisper I'd like someone to explain the "math" of this new health insurance bill. I keep hearing "affordable health insurance for everyone", over and over, how "wonderful" it will all be, from the liberal left. Although this all sounds "P.C.", and gives some hope for the chronically ill, I have mixed feelings about it. Insurance companies are NOT in business so they can lose money. They either make money, or go out of business, it's just that simple. In the past they would simply refuse to insure certain people. (I'm not saying that's good or bad, it's just the way it was) But, now, if the gov. here on out is going to force them to insure everyone, then they will HAVE TO raise the rates for everyone, in order to cover medical expenses associated with those who are newly insured, but who are not healthy. How is that going to translate into "affordable" insurance for everyone? What they are saying simply does not add up... I am very afraid of what this is gonna end up costing us, and how that will degrade our standard of living, especially in retirement years when the average wage earner will have such limited income.
