A question begging to be asked

Who are reputable dealers in coins that you've dealt with that can be trusted to give you a square deal?

Re: A question begging to be asked

I have absolutely no experience with coins, but the following link: http://www.coinsheetlinks.com/ seems trustworthy (hosted by http://www.goldsheetlinks.com/)

If your talking about buying Numismatics-don't unless you know what your doing. When its all said and done it will be just about the metal, not the date/MM. If you have Numis to sell, too bad- try to trade with someone to get more gold/silver out of the deal. Coin dealers are notorious ........., easy enough to pay you melt for your "key date" then wait for another sucker to pay the Numi Premium again- rinse and repeat. Personally I use www.APMEX.com to buy and sell if I can't deal locally. Others I know use www.providentmetals.com
I've been dealing with coins instead of mining the last few years so I've seen a little. Good luck to ya, Mark

Re: A question begging to be asked

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't have any coins to sell yet, dang it. If things change in the next few months/years, then I would need to have my research done ahead of time. Someone brought up the idea of taking payments from smelters in the form of precious metal coins and was wondering if that would be a good idea.
Easy convertability might be a problem, reading the markets correctly another. If this is not a good idea and the coin dealers were honest, then simply buying the coins from coin dealers from the smelter proceeds makes sense.
My thoughts echo MEs, no numis, just Krugerands, Maple Leafs etc.

Thanks,

b
