Picture Posting Instructions ( 15:10:34 WedMay 5 2004 )

I have posted a complete set of instructions for using Photobucket to host your pictures. I have also posted a complete set of instructions for posting your pictures on the forum.

You will find the instructions at the top of the board in the link that says, "Posting Pictures".

This free service is very easy to use and no one should have any problems posting pictures with this service. It is as simple as finding the picture you want on your computer.

The Image Resizer works good to resize your photos

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP only and they are FREE

There are several tools listed on this link.
The Image Resizer is a good one .It puts a link in your rightclick menu that brings up a resizer. It makes it easy to take those high resolution pictures and shrink them down for posting or emailing.

User control panel....edit settings, then drop the URL into this box: "Personal Picture URL
(Avatar)"

Don't forget to press "save changes."

Jim, sorry for the delay, I am away from home right now.

It sounds like you are not clicking the, "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the window where you insert the url for your Avatar, in your user control panel.

Bill, here is the link for PhotoBucket: http://photobucket.com/register.php

You evidently registered on SnapFish somehow.

Jim

I think a better solution than photobucket is warranted.
There are MANY excellent threads whose photos go missing over time.
How can we preserve these threads ?

Has anyone been making an HTML copy including the images ?

frustrated - Bill

Bill, this is a non-problem. There is nothing wrong with Photobucket, it is easy to use and folks are getting good at using it.

The problem comes in when a user posts a picture, links to it, and then at some future time, deletes the picture, thinking that its usefulness is over.

Pictures that no longer display are the result of this happening.

Re: Picture Posting Instructions ( 01:05:34 SunApr 27 2008 )

Well I have been trying to change my avatar again. I am doing EVERYTHING right; even clicking on the Save Changes button. I have shaved my picture down to 100 by 100. I have even copied my avatar picture into that other box. I have made four attempts, but I can seem to even get an avatar back at all. I think I want to cry secretly, of course.

Maybe you need to flip some switch.

Jim, I looked at the properties on your avatar, you used the "Image" tag in your avatar section. It doesn't take the Image tag there. Copy the simple URL address of the picture and insert that in the Avatar section.

Re: Picture Posting Instructions ( 21:41:37 ThuJan 1 2009 )

Well I got the snapfish site to when I used the bottom photobucket link. Then I used the top one and went through the program but when I pasted the link on the bottom to this box and submitted it I got no link or picture. Somebody else was able to get it from the black link code and post it.So what else was I supposed to do?

Hopping, I saw that when you posted it. I was going to fix it for you, but eightymesh did it first.

The problem that time was in the link. Somehow you copied more than just the IMG code.

When you copy from the Phtobucket site, first just click on the IMG code window at the bottom, then when the code highlights, right click on the highlight and choose "copy". This works for me. I think your problem before was just one of copying more text than you needed.
