JHTB? berowra.

There are a couple of new rings next to Eccles on the black board wall at Berowra, the guide description says:

JHTB 8m 20
Start: Right of E.
No pro. Hard start.

Does anyone know, if this is a retrobolt, or can't I read a guide?

Re: JHTB? berowra.

Just left of Bill Collins? If so JHTB is actually JHIB: "John Hyndes Is Better". A dumb name but we were just kids. I toproped this route in the late eighties with a couple of mates - we did most of the moves but never linked it and might even have drilled a hole or two for bolts before abandoning it (and got a bit over-excited with painting initials...). Certainly, it's not the best thing at Berowra - a gap-filler if ever there was one.

Re: JHTB? berowra.

Was out at Berowra yesterday... and indeed JTHB does now have 2 rings to a 2 ring lower off. Fairly typical blackboard route... tip / fingernail shearing boulder problem start to more pleasant upper half. Not highly recommended and not 20 either as boulder grades are probably more valid for the starting moves of the route. Involves too much finger pain and suffering to be enjoyable.
