I assigned the numbers to people as they signed in, and we randomly assigned players to tables using the following matchups. Rd #1: 1+2 vs 3+4 5+6 vs 7+8 9+10 vs 11+12 13+14 vs 15+16 Rd #2: 1+5 vs 9+13 2+6 vs 1-+14 3+7 vs 11+15 4+8 vs 12+16 Rd #3: 1+14 vs 11+8 5+2 vs 15+12 9+6 vs 3+16 13+10 vs 7+4 This setup meant that everyone played with 3 different people every round. Pretty cool, eh? The hall was great and I look forward to using it next year. Congrats again to Ryan! The Golden Marine salutes you! Game 1: DMan and Prex vs Threepwood and Zphindar - One of the shield drones protecting Threepwood's HQ made at least six 4+ saves, and took down Prex's librarian in hth! - Prex's scouts soaked up 4 turns of Tau shooting, and were still on the board at the end of the game, though below half. That was ~60 shots at those Scouts! - DMan's Wookies/Ogryns assault a Devilfish on the last turn and "flipped the b!tch", to quote Threepwood. ![]() - DMan's anti-tank squad came on from reserves, found some cover, downed a Hammerhead then fled after a single squad fired at them! - Benoit's 2 fireprisms killed a Sentinel. Yep, I think that was it... though the exploding Sentinel killed 5 Stormtroopers, who had just made their 4+ cover save from the FirePrism blast! Game 2: CRC and DMan vs Gigerem and Al - Happy: a reduced squad of Genestealers and the Broodlord are not able to wound Al's Librarian in Hth; though a desparation change by 3 beat-up Stormtrooper squads (13 models) manage to score a single wound, scoring our side 3 OPs. - Bad: DMan's IG HQ hides for 4 turns, then is gunned down in a single turn by a Falcon coming in from reserve. - More bad: DMan's Ogryn start their "can't hurt vehicles tour" by getting stuck in hth with Al's dread: 24 attacks at S6 and zero glances. - Even more bad: 18 Stormtroopers try to cross the dangerous terrain river to get within firing range of the enemy HQ. 10 <- ten! die to dangerous terrain tests! (1 squad didn't get all the way across in the first attempt, so the 10 losses were from 23 rolls. Yes, I rolled 10 1's in 23 rolls. <sigh> ) Game 3: DMan and William (Chainaxe_Manic ) vs RavenBlackWolf and Aarhus - DMan's Ogryn continue "can't hurt vehicles tour": 20 ripper gun shots, no glancing hits vs Aarhus's speeder, followed by 22 S6 attacks on the side armor of RBW's tank with 1 shaken result? - Funny: William's Khorne Dread and HQ assault RBW's other tank and knock off 2 guns... then his HQ spends the next 3 turns trying (unsuccessfully) to finish off the immobile tank, which was sitting on an objective marker. |

On our table the Defenders lost, and except for some amazing luck would have gotten 0 OPs. |

In the match with Dalton, they took most of the casualities in the 2nd turn..... Bill's Zerkers gave that scout unit the cosmic wedgie in the 2nd game, then again, he killed everything of mine except the OTHER unit of scouts. ![]() ![]() I felt sorry for each of my team members. Classic and D-man especially, I letcha down guys. My appologies.... ![]() ![]() Things I know for next time: 1. Luck was NOT as abyssmal as usual. AND I didn't lose a single model. No, really! 2. I really thought people would NOT bring as many vehicles as they did. Never again will I play without ONE Devi squad or a Dread AT LEAST. ![]() 3. "Fury of the Ancients" is NOT as strong as I thought. Then again, most of my opponents were mostly3-4+ saves. Fear of the Dark looks much better and it's cheaper. 4. Double Necron army. ![]() 5. Star Wars. The ultimate IG army. ![]() 6. Need a rulebook. Simple. ![]() 7. I reconfigured almost EVERY tactical and Devi Sunday night. Shooty has come back with a vengence. 8. Plasmaguns are NOT as good as they used ta be. 9. Did anyone bring scouts? I think I was the only one.... 10. Going all "Dakka" or all "Poke 'em in the eye" is a mistake. A better list is balanced. Quel shock, I know. Ryan's army will be awesome when it's done. BTW; Ever thought of doing an all wych cult Ryan? Love ta see your version of Cruella <sp?> Pantherrex |

Would you fear Commisar Vader if he was armed with a 'bad attitude'? In game terms, a PW for Vader would look right, but is rather ineffective on a S3 I3 model. The PFist makes his 'lightsaber' something to worry about. For my LatD Star Wars army, I use demonic talons rules for lightsabres: no shooting attacks and rending - looks like a lightsabre to me. ![]() |

![]() I agree, powerfist to represent vader in a guard army is better than power weapon.. although if it were more points than 1107, a demonhunter grandmaster with str6 lightsaber might be best of all! Can they be given the Holocaust power/ or is that just for squads..? |

RE: the double Necron Army... things must have looked much worse from your side of the table. We only had 8 Destroyers between us, not the 12+ you remembered. The horrors of war can do strange things to a man's mind... |

All I remember was waiting for those things to drop right on top of us. Guess I expected the bottom ta fall out... |
