5th edition Sisters of battles

There is a discussion on 40kOnline about it here
http://www.40konline.com/community/index.php?topic=163566.0

But i think I should take it here cause of its outmost importance for us sisters players.

Sisters of Battle will be the cheesiest army in 5th! There I said it. And if some of you still have doubt, here some pointers;

1-Troops are the only scoring units now, and are still scoring to the last man/woman. I dont know about you, but 20 powerarmored girls will be tough to kill them all(and we have faith powers to keep us from retreating) and since we will all have at least 3-4 squad of sisters at least....

2- Now that all infantry can run, it makes the footsluging army a lot more moblie now.

3-Changes to templates will make the 4(sometimes 5) flamers dominion a VERY dangerous opponent.(now we put all templates at the same time, no more model removed before the next one)

4-Vehicules are tougher now, making our rhino rush more effective.

5- No more entenglement from destroyed transport, see #4

6- feel no pain? what feel no pain? Ap1 nullifying FNP? Divine guidance ftw!

7- All vehicules are hit on their back armor in close combat. No a lot of vehicules can survive multiple S5 attack in their back.

8-Most new combats leadership modifiers are nullified by our book of st-lucius.

9- Our Inquisitor allow us to get the choice of table side and thus, 1st turn!

10- people will fear our Culexus/Eversor charging from the flank

11- Repentia might be used now! Now that they can run as well as use their movement bonus and the fact that their chainfist strike from behind the tank... hehe.

IMO, the only thing that will hurt us, is the fact that our IC will be shot like flies.(Bye bye, jumping canoness of doom)

Opinion, flame, send it away.

I dunno about sisters but chaos troop choices can also go up to 20 so that point is not much of a concerne.

I have a few other points righ now but my shifts start in 6 minutes so thats it for now.

Chaos marines:15 points
Sisters of Battles: 11 points.

The difference is that sisters cost loss than any MEQ wich mean we still have points left for our big guns.

So I think the point still stand.

At the risk of sounding like i am splitting hairs but i THINK a CSM is 14 points not 15 but i dont have my codex with me at this present time.

Also CSM have better overall stats then sister.

Also if you want to play the lowest numbers games i could bring out my tyranid list with 4 32 man squad of spinegaunt costing 5 points per model.

Re: 5th edition Sisters of battles

My main thought about your comments, LK, is that many of your points apply to all armies and they all benefit from them equally. For instance, the "run" rule comes to the rescue of many forces, the durable vehicles make Rhino (or Chimera) rushes attractive for most Imperial forces, and the lack of Entanglement is something everyone will enjoy. Other points you've listed which you describe as beneficial aren't really 100% beneficial. The "run" rule, for instance, can't be followed up with an assault, which can leave Repentia standing around with their cheese in the wind (if you saw them coming at you, would you not shoot them to confetti before they could attack?). On the other hand, your points about flamer templates are bang-on and armies that wield them will be formidable indeed and the Inquisitor certain packs a whallop. I think, overall, the Sisters will be an awesome force in 5th, but not much moreso than they presently are.

I think one thing that will help sisters more than other armies, the ones that are built a certain way anyways, will be the abudance of flamers to counteract the abundance of/better cover saves that will be appearing.

Yeah this is making me reconsider the Noice marine doom siren.

Guess my list will soon hold 2 1k son squads and 2 noise squads.

After all move + run + Ap3 flamer = yes please.

Yao is correct. Instead of shooting, you may run. If you run, you may not assault, unless you have the fleet special rule. The fleet special rule allows you to run and still assault.

Re: 5th edition Sisters of battles

TD: True tyranids can field more models(or imperial guards, or orks) but sisters are 3+ saves, 3++ when we feel like it, fearless when we want and have much better gun that any of your lil critter can bring. And yes, Chaos marines are 14 points but with the new LD rules, no chaos players in their right mind will not at least give them undivided for the reroll.

Orbital, true Repentia will not be able to charge after they run, but they will still be able to move 6+d6+d6 to get near any of your juicy tank/terminator/etc. And dont forget that repentia charge things when they get shot at, so getting a squad of repentia in the middle of your line mean you have 2 choice: kill them all; hoping no one of them is left to kill your units, ignore them; in the hope they dont kill something useful. All the while, my rhino are ramming all tanks, and my sisters are flaming along. Then again, repentia cost too much to be really useful but at least now they will be a lil bit useful.

Orbital2: True, most infantry armies(mech or not) will benefit from the above changes, but sisters were already mass-infantry, so the those changes will benefit us a lot without changing our lists much.

IMO, footslugging army will see a return, how can you easily stop a 40 plague marines, 40 Thousands sons chaos army? They are both fearless, tough as nails and scoring to the last man. Im sure ill see a lot of those guys simply walking to the objectives, not even caring about what is shooting them.

BTW, keep sending comment, either I will convince you all of the über sisters army, or one of you will prove me wrong!

I agree they are going to be better than they are currently but they still have Str and T 3. That isn't going to change with the new ed.

CSMs are 15 points and an Icon of Chaos Glory for the whole squad is only 10 pts.
