"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

My depression seems to be lifting. I just realized that part of my problem with down time/depression (I can't sort out which is which) is that it comes and goes so mysteriously for me. I can't see what triggers it, I can't move it very effectively once it's here. It makes me see that I don't have as much control as I think I do (or as I want to). I guess coming closer in touch with that realization is a positive too.

I had a whirlwind weekend, with two very successful dates with my new friend. I feel as though I have my first case of puppy love :loveya: I guess better late than never :npdhumor: I saw my 5 year-old nephew this weekend and he is all excited because he's celebrating his six month anniversary with his first girlfriend. Maybe I should take lessons on relationships from him?

I saw my old parole officer in town yesterday and he told me that he's heard good things about the direction I'm moving. That felt really good to hear positive feedback .Not something that happens everyday in my life.

This afternoon I sent a dozen roses to my new girlfriend. yes, I believe we have reached this level. It might sound corny but its the first time I've ever done anything like this and it was kind of fun ! We have our fourth date this evening. I'm still trailing my nephew by about 100 dates i think :eyepopper:

I finished a 10K race today. It is the first one I entered in 24 years! It was fun although I didn't place too well (last)! Still fun!

Cool, Malison! Exercise is a great thing. Spring seems to have arrived here in the northwest and I yanked my bicycle out and had a nice ride this morning.

My date last night was terrific! Puppy love is such a wonderful thing to experience for my wounded inner self :loveya: We went dancing after a nice dinner and I didn't even feel ashamed of my six left left. I think that has something to do with unconditional love!

Congratulations on your new relationship Tony! :puppylove:

Things are also going well in my new relationship. My new boyfriend is not at all like the last one - thank God! I'm also working hard to apply the healing principles and to pay attention and avoid getting lost in my own little world. Sometimes I feel like I'm very retarded and I'm running as fast as I can to keep up, but it's also a relief to know that I'm finally growing up! :claphands:

I know the feeling of running fast to try and keep up. She has all these emotional skills that I'm still trying to catch on to. Time will tell if I'm growing up, but things appear to be moving in a positive direction. I'm cooking dinner tonight, which is the first time I've ever cooked for someone who said she wanted to test my cooking. :drop jaw: If anyone wants to rush out here and help it might be a good idea because my idea of cooking for myself is usually popping something in the microwave. It should be an interesting experience.
