"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

I re-met a woman at work today that I met at a party last July. We had a great time chatting at the party. She's new to the area and suggested that we get together and do something fun! I'm all for that!!!

I also managed to contribute meaningfully at a meeting.

Cheers!

Late last night I received a phone from an old friend who I haven't heard from in a long time. He felt the urge to call and just renew acquaintances. We shared how we're doing and promised to do a better job of staying in communication. It feels good to have someone reach out to me and it might just inspire me to begin reaching out to others. This morning is starting out with a really positive feel and its not exclusively because its Friday. :cookiemonster:

I received the shock of my life yesterday. My job evaluation was rated much higher than I dreamed and I was given a decent raise. I just started at this job over the summer and I feared I might get the ax because I absolutely hate working there. I'm trying to look for something better but I can't complain about getting more money. I must be doing something right, but I wish I knew exactly what it is. :ohwell:

I'm starting to believe that not everyone hates me for who I am and what I've done. There is an energy within these forums which helps fill something inside.

I just completed the final meeting in a week that was kind of one long extended meeting. This afternoon I will actually sit in my office and try to do a little work. There were moments when I thought the marathon of meetings would never end. I survived and I'm probably a better person for the experience.

I just came back from a meeting with my child counsellor and received great reassurance I am doing things in the proper way. She also had some really good suggestions to help the three of us heal and at the same time be supportive of their father. It is nice to have a positive reinforcement!

I finally begged hard enough and got my boss to sell one of his tickets to the Chiefs game this weekend against Cleveland. I won't eat for a month or so but I feel good getting to see the team soon to be crowned World Champions. :ego:

On a more serious note tonight I am taking my girlfriend dancing and as she says a chance to talk about life. It was not that long ago I had no clue about life. At least now I feel as though I'm starting to learn.

I have been having fun networking and meeting new people on the job. The boss is wonderful. I love the collaborative way things get accomplished. Everyone has made me feel most welcome. The new job feels good all over. It feels like a great fit. I love the academic environment (the job is at a community college). It seems that everyone I work with is more than willing to give me a hand learning this new position.

Life, it sound as though you had a great first week on the job. Its the kind of thing which gives me hope of happiness assumming I ever decide to grow up and enter the adult world. :cookiemonster:

I confess to having been lazy this evening and playing computer games rather than doing the work I should be doing. Every once in a while we need to take a little time for ourselves and this was one of those times when my inner child was calling loud enough that I had to pay attention. There;s a lot less stress now so this is a good thing.
