Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

A. Anything is possible. You do not have to be a negative statistic on a probablity curve of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Great to hear that, Bikerboy - I hope it goes well for you next semester. And fantastic to hear about the raise, Taran - and the hugs.

I had a good day today with my eldest son and some of his friends. I am feeling better than I have in a while.

Great news on the raise Taran!

I hope this new semester goes well for you bikerboy.

Late last night I called my new friend up and asked if she wanted to come watch football with me today. Much to my surprise she said yes. Looking at the clock I see I have about an hour to make this place look like people live here rather than barn animals. Actually there is the matter of the three ducks who share the house but that's another story altogether. For those who remember Swisher is doing great eight months after her surgery. :cookiemonster: I see a couple of posts I'd like to join in on but that will have to wait until this evening. Romance is calling. Well, friendship is calling might be the better way to put this.

Over 4 months without using. So far, so good.

What are folks going to fight about after the football season is over?

That's great friendly! Keep it up.

I don't know what we're going to fight about now that football season is over, as far as I'm concerned. I guess we'll have to wait until next season. Unless anyone has any suggestions.

On a positive note, I don't have to work tomorrow! :claphands: :cookiemonster:

We could fight about who's better, Steve or Joe, but probably only Mel and I would get that one. Or Shania: Red or Green? (Green!) But don't worry-- college basketball should be heating up soon!

My positive: After a couple of weeks of moping, I am up, dressed in my gym clothes, ready to work out! Yeah Me!!!

It's not easy for me to think in terms of anything being positive right now. Let's say the most positive thing is that I've accepted my NPD and I'm making an effort to do something about it. From what I've seen thus far I'd call finding this community another positive.

A moment of silence please for the Eagles.

Yesterday's football date only went so-so. :ohwell: I'm not exactly sure where things stand at this moment.

On the positive I have been working through a mess of technical issues associated with getting the new web site launched and it appears its almost resolved. I have managed to stay calm and try not to explode at the hosting company as we go through this process. I cannot say I've stayed 100% calm but enough so that I feel it counts as a positive. Maybe 89% :npdhumor:

There is basketball, there is hockey, I'm sure we can find something to fight about.

Don't get me started on Shania. Steve or Joe? Not sure about who that is. Have to think on it longer.

It usually takes two nights of fighting to get my boys back to a decent sleep schedule. However, 9 and we are all sleeping. My oldest has been down for an hour, baby number two is just drifting off.

I guess we are all getting a little better at this new life.

89% is still on the positive side!

Mel,

Hmmmm... I take it neither Green nor Red. Steve and Joe are the former and current host of Blue's Clue's respectively. TC's right-- this community probably has plenty to fight about in the realm of sports!

Good marriage counseling session. TC mentioned the stress I was under, and marriage counselor picked up on this. Reminded me that my husband is now getting professional therapeutic care, so it is ok for me to let go of my worrying about him and use this time to get in touch with my own needs and wants about the future of our marriage. WHEW! Also re-iterated yet again that I do want a divorce without bringing in issues of deadline or anything-- we agreed together that as long as I'm still swinging back and forth even a little bit, it's better to keep on as we are, knowing the relationship my husband and I are starting to build in counseling is worth the investment whether we stay together or not. And for the first time my husband talked about plans he has come up with in case we do divorce-- so he hasn't been in the dark and is taking care of himself-- big big relief!!!

Oh, I get it. I prefer Steve...

My positive is that even though my kids are with their father this evening and I have to spend the time getting financials and a log of events ready for my meeting with the lawyer on Thursday, I am going to look at it as the start of my new life. The next step. A new phase. I refuse to let it get me bummed out!
