But Hewho, you are so cute with those pom-poms!
Sometimes, I just crack myself up...
After meeting with our pediatrician, it came home to me what a cloud our little boy had been living under while his dad still lived here. In addition, he has some very understandable anger at me because somehow he knows I'm the one who made dad move out (gee, wonder how that happened....) So, I have structured our time more tightly by adding lots of fun things to do. This is a way to build in boundaries without it being something he resents. It also offers lots of opportunities to discipline with positive reinforcement. And it means less TV which seems to help him behave better. Today, we had a class at the zoo about elephants. I thought he was bored, but when he talked to his dad, he went on and on about it, and I was amazed by how much he had learned. He is also on the waiting list for play therapy.

This has been a stressful, very busy week. I have lots to catch up on after getting sick last week. I continue to think alot about members here and the others in my real life and my mind feels as though its on overload. So I was grateful for a refreshing blast of humor from a rather unexpected source this morning.
I was riding with my new boss to a session in juvenile court. We had a real fear this would prove to be a very tense session, with victim and offender looking for blood. I was all seriousness when we stopped for gas. We parked next to a very large Dodge truck that was American to the bitter end. Old glory flying high, along side a confederate flag, a bumper sticker proclaiming proud to be an American, and a bimbo on the flaps with rather large boobs.
As we were driving away my boss shouted at the driver that he needed to get a more maucho truck. He than mocked this tough guy saying the boobs on his bimbo were way too small. What is this country coming too?
The court session was every bit as ugly as we feared, but we both snickered throughout, probably leaving the entire court wondering what we were smoking. :mpdhumor:
You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to the self . .. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime , you are the only one you will never lose.
