Re: Concerts

I won't go to the Big Easy anymore. They sell way too many tickets. I went to Johnny Lang and could barely get a glimpse of him. His band was mediocre at best. To top it off the employees are a bunch of rude a-holes. You can see a better act in T.J. Toads watching Spindle Bomb. Local boys who play fun lively music. And to top it off they're all really nice guys.
I'd recommend John Prine in the Morrison Center. I think its August 3rd. All seats there are good and the sound is outstanding. Even colt would like John Prine. He's out of Nashville now and always brings talent with him.
Watching Steve Miller at the Hailey High School was the best concert last year and it was a benefit for the Snake River Alliance.

Re: Concerts

bushbasher ----------------- My wife has dragged me kicking and screaming to 8 or 9 concerts at the Morrison Center and the Pavilion ( no I won't change it's name )
In reality I always enjoyed myself , we've seen some big names in country music . Ya we're a couple of rednecks .
Also got to see George Carlin at the Morrison Center , foul mouth stand up . I loved it !

Re: Concerts

Boy, Sun Valley is having better concerts than Boise. i was bummed I couldn't go see the CLumsey lovers and Big head Todd. 3 other artists too. Sun Valley seems to be growing a more artistic community. Liberal arts ya know.

Keith Urban rocks!

The Keith Urban concert at the Idaho Center Friday night was FABULOUS! Not only is Keith beautiful to look at, but he can really play. I was at his concert last year at the BOA Center and I thought that was a great show, but this one blew last years away. When Keith hung onto a harness and swung out over the crowd to a platform in the middle of the arena floor everyone went crazy. He really knows how to connect with his audience. The small talk was great and showed him to be an artist that really seems to appreciate his fans. He played all of his "hits" and a few songs that probably only the diehard fans would have heard before. He played for almost 2 1/2 hours and I loved every minute of it. When/if Keith ever comes back to Idaho I will certainly be going. My only complaint is the same complaint I have about nearly every band who plays the Idaho Center...you guys are playing in Nampa, not Boise. For once it would be nice to hear a band say "it's great to be here in Nampa tonight!" instead of saying how happy their are to be in Boise. But that minor annoyance aside, it was a perfect show.

I agree. Not only does that man have a FINE voice, but he is FINE too! He really knew how to connecet with the audience. That was the best concert I have ever attended...and if anyone didn't go...you missed out! I drove over 350 miles to make it to the concert...and I would definately do it again!!

Re: Concerts

I Just came from the Boise holiday parade downtown. It was really lame. The only good parts were the two marching bands and the bagpipes. That was it for music. What happened to every highschool and jr. high in the area participating? I want to see the kids play their instruments, not a bunch of idiot politicians riding around on cars from local dealers. Their were some dance teams too, but they weren't dancing.

Re: Concerts

Been to a consert at the pavillian,( I won't change the name either) won't go there again. Saw the best consert of my life at the Morrison center the year the Berlin wall came down. John Kay; the lead of Steppin Wolf escaped with his mother from the east side and they rocked the place. The accoustics were great and the consert goers did not stand and dance in front of others. No one was allowed the sit or stand in the isles. I won't even try the Idaho Center.

Re: Concerts

Was dragged kicking and screaming to the Toby Kieth concert. I am not a big fan of country music. I already had to suffer through Allan Jackson and Tracy Lawrence when they were here.

Toby was good looking but all he sang about was drinking. My head was hurting for two days. Partly from lack of sleep and partly because of the concert.
