CARS Forum Coming

OK folks, I want you all to reply to this. Yes all five of you. :tongue:

I'm thinking of a new way of pumping life into this board and it involves totally reworking, refacing and redoing it. I'm thinking of changing the whole board into a Cars the movie board. Cars are my latest obsession. The movie is pretty popular and I think I could get people to join. I have a feeling this new obsession will last me a while. I'm currently active on another forum and well let's say that the administration there is nothing like it is here. I'd love to see a forum that's friendly, run well and were jerks aren't allowed. Of course you all know we can do that. There's about a 90% chance I will be turning this place into a Cars forum. The idea could totally flop but we're dead so if it fails it's no loss.

Ok, so what do you guys say? Admins would you be willing to stay on the team if it becomes a Cars board? Yes this is a big change, but I've been wanting to own another active board again that's fun. I feel this obsession I'm going through has the potential to last a few years just like SpongeBob did. Well do let me know. I am fairly excited about this. I must be to have gotten out of bed at 2AM just to post this.

I think you should go for it. I will be willing to stay on the team, and will be more active around here. I think you should tak a chance on this. Cars is a cute movie. :grin:

Great thanks for the support you guys. I hope Insane will not mind saying on as well. I have a feeling this will be a rebirth for the board. I've already got the names of the forums worked out. Next thing is working on the posticons. The emoticons will finally get fixed. If activity picks up I'll pay for the board and get rid of the ads. I'm going to delete all the old members that are gone too. And all the posts will be moved and locked into an archives forum.

I'm up for it. However, I don't know how much of an assest I'll be because I haven't seen the movie yet. I'm sure I will eventually though and even if not I still wanna stay because I'm not ready to just ditch this place. :grin:

Aww tahnks. Well half the changes are already done. It's ok if you haven't seen it. You can rent it in November when it comes on dvd.

I know I'm not one of the five, but I wanted to say that i think this is a great idea. Like InsaneOne, I haven't seen the movie yet either, but I really want to.

I know I said before I probably wouldn't be on here much but I came back to check things out again and I seem to have this magnet in me that keeps on wanting to come back to this message board. Like Leo said in The Producers, "Stop the world. I want to get on!"... okay, it sorta refers to this, I'm tryin! I would've used a quote from Cars but I haven't seen it yet. :sad:

Kinda sad I'm deciding to come back to my roots when things are changing, but it's a fresh new start, so I guess I'll have to start off with a clean slate too.

Sorry, I've picked up the art of rambling while I was gone. :biggrin: I'll cut this now before I dig myself a hole.

Hi there. Well it's good to see you. I'm glad you like our new look and well the board is new again. I still have a lot of work to go on this. So what's left?

* Redo Rules
* Redo user levels
* Redo Reply, New Topic and closed icons
* Redo colors

I'm not looking forward to redoing the colors because that's always hard. The movie comes out on DVD in November so be sure to rent it. I can make all types of screen caps which is how I got the backgrounds all worked out. Once everything's done I'll start promoting the board and hopefully we'll get some life in here. Yeah I don't know why but I refused to let this place go too.

Yeah me too. That makes me feel so much better that I'm not the only one who hasn't seen that movie yet, because I now don't feel slightly left out any more. I'm always behind when it comes to seeing movies for example I haven't even seen the first POTC yet and we have the dvd. Third movie will come out very likely on dvd and very likely I still wont have gotten around to see it.

Oh there's another board I'm on where there's a couple of Cars fans who might be interested in coming here and I think because they also love NASCAR, if you don't mind me mentioning this board!

Thanks. Oh wow yes please help spread the word. I'm almost finished. I just need to fix the colors and the emoticons and we'll be ready to officially open. I'm in the Test Drive forum right now. Have a look since you're on. I'm making a mess in there. :tongue:

It looks amazing. It was startling at first because I'm used to seeing the green and the Bob, but this is really nice. Especially since black and red are my favorite colors, :biggrin:.

I'm also a pessemist, but for me that seems to be the only way most of the time things end up turning positive. I also don't have excitement dampened either through dissappointment, due to something not working out. At least no one can have a deader forum than any of mine put together :wink:

Silly me. See, I haven't seen the movie yet but had been planning to for a long time, I just thought I could pull a charade until I saw it, but I failed. But will see it soon though, I love cars (the real kind) and have been looking forward to movie from Pixar about cars. They always made great movies and cars are one of my favourite subjects, I'm not old enough to drive yet but I collect loads of toy cars, all of them still in their box. I've been collecting them since I was four, and I always love watching driving prgrams on television and browsing through the car shops, and to hear that Pixar was making a movie about cars made me very excited. Since it's too late for me to see the movie in cinemas I'll probably rent it when it comes on DVD.

I'm an optimist really, and that annoys the *chrysler!* out of me. That means I get overexcited when I enter competitions and stuff. Plus I get overexcited when I hear something good might happen. But it never does happen. I'm a bit of a pessimist too when I hear a bad thing might happen, I fear it does. It's an annoying habit of mine.

But anyway, I'm sure the board will do great. And once I see the movie which shouldn't be too long, I'll be ready to start being involved again.

Also, I spread around a bit, I posted a link here in my blog, I hope that helps.

Well you're not alone. I like real cars to. I collect the 1:18 and 1:24 scale models of my favorite exotics. Right now we're trying to track down an SLR McLaren. You'll love the movie when you see it. And thanks for spreading the word about the board. :hug:

And glad to see you love cars too. They are such wonderus machines. I hate modified cars though, and everyone I know thinks I'm weird because I don't like them. Normal cars are way better, and they look nicer, you don't need weak wheels or a TV on the side of your door (why would you watch television while driving anyway?) to make your car cool, and if your car's a wreck, why not try to get another one? :huh:

Haha, well then again you aren't alone. I'm not a fan at all of the tuner culture. I hate pinped out cars. When I go buy models I get annoyed to see my favorites like Laborginis with huge hub caps. Not only does it look bad but like you said it ruins the wheels making them weaker. Lowering a car is so stupid too. It doesn't make it more aerodynamic, it just makes it break when you hit a speed bump. Some are so modified you can't even tell what they used to be. Spoilers are fine though. I think some cars like the countach need them and look stubby without one.

Now having said that it's weird that I liked the Delinquents Road Hazards in the movie so much. I guess it was their colors and aggressive personalities that won me over.
