Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

(oops I forgot to look here for replies. Also I didn't realise about using only one thread for different tests)

Thanks I had to try and create a ticker to go with my birthday date. Anyway is my new avatar too big or is the size ok? (I will remove it and try to find a smaller one). My last avatar I tried didn't work and I did find out why.

(I changed the subject heading so that I can test avatars as well and also now that I know I need to keep to one thread)

Hey looks good. Don't worry, I have the board set to not let images get bigger than 150x150 and icons no bigger than 60x60. You can add the width and height in your profile to make it fit right. What is the pic of anyway? Looks like a fat statue.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Now you've got me, I've got to try and remember. Anyway it's a statue called I believe The Grumpy Grandma or The Giles Statue and it stands in our town centre. Carl Giles, who was local many decades ago use to draw cartoons and his trademark was the Grumpy Grandma. I believe that the statue was created when he died. I think that's how the history of the statue goes anyway. I'll have to find out more.

My new Icon and avatar.

The avatar is one pic of a budgie I had a few years ago, which I photographed in flight. Does the pic seem clear enough to you? I had to trim the image down to focus more on the bird. I have another pic in flight but it's slightly blurier.

I noticed that in the welcome forum. I  :budgie:s! It is a little blurry but it's a great pic still because it's hard to take pics of flying birds. I've tried and never been able to do it.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

I've just created a banner for trial (a first time banner creation) and am not sure if I've got the size right, but here's a try to see how it works. Just a question how do I get it central?

Looks like I made it a bit small, so I'll have to try again.

Wow that's great! BUDGIE!! Yeah you can make it a little bigger if you'd like.

And to center like I did above just put
[ center] pic url [ /center]
but without the space at the beginning.

Thanks, back to the drawing board (as they say). With the size it is, it seems to have cramped the images. I hope to give a couple more a try in the meantime. Um thinking about it, I think I'll keep it to the left and not centre it.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Trying out new sig banner which is coming out too big this time . Looks like I'll have to try again. Maybe if I reduce the size of my image file it might work. At the moment I'm trying the preview with the size changes, that don't seem to be changing the size. What am I doing wrong?

Just resized the image and didn't realize how giant it actually was and was looking at the zoomed out version. Anyway it's smaller now there and the uploaded sig version is. Is it still too big though and how do I get the size coding to work properly as I seem to be doing something wrong?

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Well you'll either have to redo the image or type in the coding into your sig. Try typing width=yourwidth height=yourheight in the url bracket. I'm gonna try to find out what the exact code is because I haven't done this in forever.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Resized it to a decent size and uploaded the resized one.

I have another one created as a 1024x768 wallpaper, resized for the pupose of uploading as a smaller image. I am trying to create some wall papers and banners, trying to create an image with more than one other images blended into it and each other such as into the background. I'm just trying to get the hang of it, which now I might have figured out how to do it. Also what's the best size to start an image at like yours Squidwardd, so that I don't have to keep resizing it and use trial and error?

Anyway is this one ok size wise and with the text or does it go too far down?

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Well it depends what resolution all your other pics are at. I try to have everything at 300 dpi when I start then I make all the layers. Once it's set up how I like then I flaten the image and reduce the pixel size. The reductions at 300 come out real nice and very little detail is lost.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Is it me or do all my posts seem to be stretching lately. Wuv pointed out in one post about possibly my sig stretching the tables. I removed it and to me my posts seem to be stretching still. Could it be because of my avatar? My resolution is 1024x768, which could be something to do with why it appears that way to me. Anyway is my avatar ok or is it too big?

I'm trying different avatars and they're all coming out the same size. This one is appearing slightly bigger than the actual image size.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

Your avatar is fine on the board but I have the board set to not allow pics to be bigger than 150x150. So if it's bigger it will shrink it. So it's not your avatar that's streaching the tables. So long as you keep your width to 350 pixles it shouldn't matter what the resolution of your screen is.

What I don't understand is how my avatar is bigger than the actual image is.

Re: testing my sig(s/avatars)

When you go into user CP if you don't add your width and height the board will automatically streach the image to 150x150 if it is smaller, so you have to fix that to make it actual size.
