Thanks for the link. You are going to be proud of me. I bought a bag of the nickle plated .177 lead shot from Ballistic Products. Here is what it looks like these day.

Very cool. That would be a great thing to have for camping trips. I bet you can control one to recirculate by varying the the flame.

When I lived out at my little "ranch" in the Puna rainforest, I was totally off the grid. I used a 12v water pump, and a propane, heat on demand water heater called a Paloma, and I can't speak highly enough about those. I took the same setup along on beach and camping trips, I just hung it on the back of my van, then with both back doors open, I could put a shower curtain across, and it was hot shower time!
If you'd had one of those, just connecting it to your garden hose would have done the job in as much time as it takes to fill the pool up. But you know what I do when I need hot water in a strange place? I connect my water hose to the hot water spigot for the washing machine. That works, too.

Yes. It does 4500 easily. I don't know how far it will go, but the gauge reads 9k. Here is my homemade radiator setup if you haven't seen it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7L10KrltbU I bought a larger pump, but haven't installed it yet. The problem I had was the one that was sent didn't want to start on it's own when I put it in the antifreeze solution. While I was waiting on the new pump to be delivered I gave the original pump a kick start, and let it run in the coolant for several hours. It starts up just fine now. I did want to add a few gpm, and these pumps are dirt cheap.
Now for the strange stuff. Our second son was a home birth. My wife wanted to have a water birth so it was up to me to provide an inflatable kiddie pool in the with warm water. That posed a challenge. I thought to myself, "Hmm... How can I do this while drinking beer, and watching TV?" The midwife gave me a link for an inflatable kiddie pool I will be happy to share. I had a 12 V DC bildge pump that I used in a cooler to keep oysters alive, and get salt back into them when they didn't have enough. I wired it to a wall box transformer to power it without using jumper cables coming from the truck. For the water heater I used a turkey fryer on the range in the kitchen with a gate valve in the bottom. I ran a piece of heater hose (from the same heater hose I made my compressor cooling system with) into the pool on the kitchen floor. I then had some 1" PVC that had two 90's on it that bridged the pool to a five gallon bucket where the pump was. The pump ran back to the fryer with a ball valve in the line. The trick was getting the the valves in sync with the syphon pressure of the water pasing from the tub to the bucket. It worked like a charm. No one died, and I spent three less days in the hospital than I ever will. The [ Continued ] View Rest Of Post

The intake is on the low pressure cylinder. Unfortunately it's not threaded. I had the same idea about pumping helium It could easily be done using a trash bag for a reg.
When I get around to it I want to take the head off the low pressure cylinder to see if I can thread it. I want to put a moisture filter there. I tore the separator down to see how it was doing. It's just not large enough to handle high volumes. I'm sure it's fine for charging PCP guns every now, and then though. Did you see the blue one I posted from Ali on the other forum? There is a video of someone making their own pre-intake separator on YouTube for that unit which I can only assume uses the same pump. The intake on that one is threaded so it must be doable. I would post the link, but I'm on my phone so it's a PITA.

I'm trying to figure out a way to pool that much together, although it's a bargain, it's still more than I can spend at one time, and it won't be easy to rat hole that much away without the commitment of a layaway, or something. But I want one, no doubt about it. It goes up to 4500psi, right?
And btw, what is the inlet like, is there a way to attach a hose to it? It would be way cool to feed it something like helium, that only comes in 2000psi tanks, and compress it to higher pressure. It might even be faster if you could feed it with a shop compressor with enough volume to keep up with it, like the shoebox does. Just an idea.

I emailed him, and he got right back with me. He says I put too much oil in it. I filled it to the center of the red indicator because no oil was showing in the window. He told me they only take about half a cup. That makes the window absolutely pointless. It didn't come with any instructions so I filled it like it was empty.
It's not a lot of oil in the separator. It was probably pulled out of the cloud of oil the thing made. It must be coming out of the breather on the fill hole. I feel the same way about him bringing a reasonably fast affordable compressor to the market. He knows that, and is listening to my feedback. A lot of the big forums are hammering him. I think it's partially because of conflicting interests with sponsors. I would love to see him succeed for the benefit of all of us.

You have compressor oil getting into your high pressure, somehow, I suspect piston rings. I'd be pissed for that kind of money. How long have you run it at a stretch? It might only be made to fill little tanks on the gun, and not for filling an entire scuba tank at a time. Did he not include a spare set of rings with it, I thought he said he did. If not I know he did say he has spare parts for them. But still, that sucker is brand new, and if it's not up to the task of filling an entire scuba tank, they should make that perfectly clear up front. I did get that these are new to him, and the ones he had before weren't all that. I'll give the guy a lot of credit for trying to find good units that he can sell for the best price, though.

I guess I forgot. I did link it in the other forum. There is something wrong with it. Maybe you can help. It's leaking oil somewhere when it runs. It will fog up the room. I can't find the leak because of the motor fan. After I run it for any amount of time the whole damn thing is coated in oil. It's even getting into moisture separator (not good at all). I also calculated today it pumps at 1.3 cfm.

I admit I link shit myself, now and then, but only when it is relevant to the topic (or the others on the board would have an interest), and something I believe in, and I never endorse anything for profit, only what works for me. Everything has a time and a place. You should have linked that compressor you just got, I had to go find it myself.
http://mrodair.com/airmax_extreme_4500_psi_110_volt_high_speed_hpa_compressor_in_stock_now Credit where it's due, though, linking on this board takes some skill, I'll give him that much. That is a nice compressor, and a very good deal, at that. Even though after I linked the lead I shoot, and we ended up buying it all out. Shit happens.

I agree. One of the spammers asked me a question about a bird so it's not a spambot unless it came in the back door. Nobody here would remotely want that shit here.
