What I mean is that even fixed barrel CO2 guns running
unregulated at tank pressure (around 900psi for CO2) don't get near 1000+ fps in .25cal. 500fps is still a stretch of the imagination, and that would yield a quarter of the ME of 1000fps. The advantage of less heat per barrel doesn't apply to airsoft miniguns, and the advantage of less friction / wear per barrel has no effect on getting '1000+ fps' from low pressure regulated air. It would indeed need a huge tank, because as soon as the tank drops below the regulated pressure, you get nothing. Then there's the problem of trying to fire a gun at upwards of 3000psi when it's built for only 200psi. Even if the valve was modified to deliver the gas, the gun would explode. Even with the gun's limitations, I'm in no way denying its firepower. I don't think there's any gun that comes close to firing this much metal at good velocity, per unit time. | ||||

Well...it's not exactly a fixed barrel mechanism. The whole point of a multi-barreled mini-gun is to allow feed into the lower barrels while the top fires. This also disperses the friction/heat factor amoungst the many barrels as opposed to one (of coarse). Who said they operate on full CO2 tank pressure anyways? The solution would be not even using CO2, but compressed air. The regulation just keeps each shot from dropping velocity lower and lower than the shot before it. Simply put, huge supply tank, huge (burst) airflow release rate, huge regulated tank pressures, and overall rapid-rate efficiency = HUGE power. You won't need to argue that against Newton. | ||||||

How many CO2 guns do you know of that can get lead projectiles up to quote, "1000fps+"? It'll never happen in a fixed barrel mechanism. Besides, the gun doesn't run on full CO2 tank pressure, it needs to be regulated.

I can't believe no one has replied to this!
This thing is simply amazing! Too bad I'm not rich, or I'd own two of them. Theoretically, if you had a huge CO2 supply tank, large porting w/ a large regulator, you could probably push 6mm lead balls at 1000fps+@3000rpm. Asssuming there were no other setbacks (which I can't see there being looking at the beefy construction), of coarse. | ||||
