Re: Registering...Part 2
Should not be anything wrong with it today-the other day we had some trouble-can you email me at support@bbboy.net with the email you used to sign up with, and the name you registered and the password you're using? It might be something as simple as a 1 instead of a lower case L-the passwords we send out have both numbers and letters.

Re: Registering...Part 2
I went in and could not find that username-looks like it was lost in the glitch we had a few days ago and I apologize. If you re-register you should be able to get the registration email sent to you now-it was not functioning properly the other day but is now. I have replied to your email too.

Okay I just re-registered with the same of everything, I did not receive an e-mail yet, but then again I just sent it, but I didn't receive the reply you sent to my e-mail.

Re: Registering...Part 2
Is that ISP or web-based email? Sometimes it happens that Hotmail or similar web-based email providers treat emails from bbb.net as spam and put them in a separate folder. It might be worth checking if that's what happened in your case.

Re: Registering...Part 2
Well it is a hotmail address, but I checked my junk mail, and I even added the e-mail to my address book. I haven't received ANY new e-mails...and I can't register without a password...

If you could post the username you tried to register, we'll check and see what's going on.

Re: Registering...Part 2
OK, I just requested that your password be sent to you - the registration has gone through OK.

If you don't receive the email, could it be that you've entered your email address incorrectly?

I'll just go check what it is and then whisper it to you and you can tell me if it'c correct, ok?

Re: Registering...Part 2
Oops, I just realised I can't whisper it to you as you're not logged in!

I'll put it here and as soon as I know you've seen it, I'll edit it out, ok?

*Edited out email address*

Let me know if that's the correct address.

Have you received the password email yet?

Re: Registering...Part 2
No it doesn't - I don't even know if our system will accept a character like that. I would think not actually.

You'll have to register a different name without any accented characters, as that one is too close to the ordinary Dee one.

Re: Registering...Part 2
No problem, Dee - sorry don't know how to produce the special "D" - perhaps you can tell me?

That would be the reason you've not received the confirmation emails. I'm sure if you regsiter another name, you'll have no problems.

Re: Registering...Part 2
Well to produce the special D, you click Alt 0174477 or something like that, sometimes u have to hold some other things down, its kinda confusing. but the reason why I had the special D was because Dee with a regular D is taken. I didn't want any numbers after it either. But I will create a different account. Thanks very much

Re: Registering...Part 2
¨ Hmm, that doesn't seem to work!

It's perhaps just as well you couldn't create that account, as it could easily have led to a lot of confusion with the regular Dee user.

Hope you can find an alternative name that you're happy with.

OK, I resent your password.

Are you sure this email account is working? When was the last time you received an email (from anyone)?

Re: Registering...Part 2
No, unfortuantely I can't - your email address on file here can only be changed by you emailing support@bbboy.net with your username and password from the original address registered by you.

Since you don't know your password, that can't be done either!

Looks like you're between a rock and a hard place.
:ohwell:

All I can suggest at this point is that you email support and explain the whole situation and we'll see what we can do.

Have you ever successfully registered a username with us?

I just tested our email server and it's working fine, so this has to be some sort of problem at your end.

Re: Registering...Part 2
I have never been able to successfully register an account. When I registered it said it would send me password in an e-mail, I never got the e-mail! It can't be my e-mail address, could it be maybe because its a hotmail address?

Re: Registering...Part 2
We have thousands of users with hotmail addresses - it must be something with the set-up of yours that gives you this problem.

Another thought - when you registered, did you select html or text emails? I know Hotmail doesn't allow html, so if you selected that option, there could be a problem.

Try emailing support like I suggested above and we'll go from there. If we get an email from you, we can reply to it hopefully.

IM pretty sure I selected text, but you said to e-mail support, whats the e-mail? (Sorry if thats a stupid question) and also, if there is something wrong with my account, how will I know if they have tried to reply or not?

Re: Registering...Part 2
Check your email Keri-sent it and you did have HTML selected so that is most likely the trouble-hotmail doesn't allow HTML email. We've run into this before. The email for support is support@bbboy.net but you shouldn't need it now. Let me know if that didn't do the trick ok?

Re: Registering...Part 2
I gave the address up above - support@bbboy.net

Hopefully if we can receive an email from you, we can reply to it.

If this doesn't work, then I'm sorry you just won't be able to register. Registration is only possible with a valid email address that is properly functional.

Re: Registering...Part 2
A friend just told me that sometimes Hotmail is quirky for just SOME users and nobody seems to know why.

It's been suggested that Yahoo might work better, so perhaps you could try that. You'd have to register a new username though, with your new Yahoo account.

Re: Registering...Part 2
If you did not get it after what I did last night, chaging the setting from HTML email to Text, then you have some setting on the filter in your hotmail that is trashing the email Keri.

I don't think making another one is going help. You need to go into your hotmail prefs and change the spam filter somehow to something less strict because it will not let the email by. Once you've done this go here:

http://bb.bbboy.net/lostpass.boy

and have your password resent. There isn't anything I can do for you further since what I did should have gotten it to you-its on your end that settings need looked into.
