I am not sure if this is related at all.
I have had problems on the Gold server for several weeks now.

1) not every time but once in a while, when performing an action, posting andministering ect..........when I am done it will kick me right out to the main forum. The post or admin. action does not save.
2) the whosonline feature gets distorted. It will be partialy blocked out in blue and the whosonline is all mixed together. ( This was a problem BEFORE I changed my template and theme) It was thought to of been a problem due to my template but that can not be the case.
3) We have just started getting a internal erver error
4) Members have stopped getting e-mail notifications on selected forums. But I found it can be fixed by unsuscribing then re-subscribing

I asked the members to report any further problmes.

As I said I am not sure if this is related and I am sorry for the severe problems all of you are having.
I hope you all have backed up your boards in case.

BbBoy has been alerted and is looking into this trouble. We hope to have things back to normal soon. This is not an april fools joke-I know it is bad timing, but we are working hard to find the trouble and apologize for the trouble eveyrone is having. Thank you everyone for posting your board links. I think it is a server specific issue so if you have trouble on any other server beyond frost then please report the board and server to us.

As for the trouble you're having on gold I_Surrender_All, when did it begin and do you have processing screens enabled at all? For some things if you do not have them enabled to at least warnings and informational you won't see the error/alert message to know why something you did in the admin center didn't work. If you can try to think of specific events that triggered your being pushed out onto the main board page then please let us know-however you need to start a new thread as this one isn't really going to be easy to follow with all the things happening at the moment. :smile:

The theme problem some people have been happening for some people after they make an announcement (the board turns white) is fixable by reinstalling the theme. This doesn't fix the white on the EDIT server, however.

None of our threads or forums are showing up at http://frost.bbboy.net/ffo and one of the admins witnessed two people on the site that should not have been where they showed up. If you want more info about them just let us know. It may have been a quirk with what was going on but she felt it was very odd and then the forums started disappearing before her eyes.

I just threw our board into maintenance mode. No sense in compounding the situation more by members/non-members having access where they shouldn't....among all the other problems. I hope everything gets fixed soon, or I might actually have to do work while I'm at work. LOL

Any idea if the threads deleted during the night (PST) will or can be restored?
We had an ongoing thread that had over 6300 posts in it and was almost 1 year old.
And our board is unable to do any server backup restores.

BbBoy is working on the trouble now. Some things are fixed and others are being worked on. IF you lost forums they will return but you will need to go in Edit Settings and rename them all. If your Easy Customization settings were lost those are what BbBoy is working on restoring on frost now. Do not SAVE any changes in that screen or it will lose the settings and wipe everything out. It looks wiped out now so as long as you don't save changes it should come back when BbBoy is finished working on it. :smile:

I know you all are working very hard on the problem with Frost and things seem to be getting back to normal, but we are still having some problems with our board... http://frost.bbboy.net/ffo

There are several threads started by a guest with no subject line with this in the started column..."Started By Guest Wed Dec 31 1969 7:00:00pm". We have tried to delete those threads, but get a screen saying "Thread 315:: does not exist... Now returning you to the forum you were just in..."

The "posts in threads" column is still not right either.

Just made a test post in your freebies forum using my Wandisimo username and got the same problem.. Have you disabled "processing" screens on your board? :smile:

If so, if you currently have them disabled, if you enable them again, it should give the reason why we cant view posts :smile:

I'm not sure what is wrong so I can't shed any light on it until BbBoy can find what is going on. He has been alerted and things should be back to normal soon. Thank you for reporting it and detailing what happened for us. :smile:

Problems at my board

I just posted something and it showed me as a guest, when I was logged in and I'm an Admin! :help:

Its also not showing some people's replies in threads. The post I made a few minutes ago and one other, is saying the new thread doesn't exist. :help:

Please help!!

trying to delete forum, but it says it doesn't exsist?

Hi, I'm an admin of a board on BBoards, and I'm having troubled deleting a forum. When I try to delete it, it says that it does not exsist, but I can edit it. However, if I try to post a topic in it, it says the forum does not exsist again. Any advice?

Also, whenever anyone tries to start a new thread, it will go through the regular process, and then say "this thread is not here anymore", although I can see it in the list fine. However, if you click it it says "this thread is not here anymore" again, although strangely I CAN delete it.

The above problem still stands.

Problems on our board

Hi. We're having trouble with our board. We can't seem to click on a thread to reply. It redirects us to the main screen of that forum.

We've attempted to start new threads as well but can't view them.

threads dating to 1969 and other mishaps!

Just happening tonite, we have people logged in who are posting in existing threads or new threads and it is showing them as guests posting in the 1960's. These threads lead to the redirect prompt when clicked on. What's happenin? lol

maintainence mode?

I have put my board into maintainance mode. All of our admin forums are visible and readable! Since the server is having problems, is it safe to do this? Will it cause problems with the restoration? It is such a mess!! I just don't want our admin, normally hidden forum, visibble and readable.

Yes GSD Cafe, you are fine to put it in maintainance mode-just don't save changes in the Easy Customization screen or anything in the template. :smile:

Thank You. I did a server side restore from my back up from two days ago, and it worked. We are now up and running.

I only had problems w/my forums...they all changed to forum1,forum2 etc... I just went and updated each forum back to what it was before.. the only thing wrong now is the post counts. :smile:

We're still missing threads and posts from one of the forums on our baord (typically, one of the more important forums!).

Will we be able to get the missing forum back?

Will the post counts in the number of threads be restored too?

Our board seams to be working, exept its still completly white. Are you going to look into that or should we try and fix it outselfes? Not sure we have all the color codes left. Can we post as normal or will those posts be lost when this is finnished? Does the "dont save changes" rule apply to everybody?

To fix the white, reinstall your theme, but don't do it now because it may get messed up.

Is there any update pertaining to the deletion of these posts that "don't exist" which this GUEST in 1969 made? Also any solution on the post count mixup yet?

We are still having problems on our board. Our owner added some forums yesterday so our members could post somewhere in the mean time. I'm wondering if those forums need to be deleted in order to have our board restored. Also, I'm on our board right now and we have a guest viewing one of the threads that from our board before we lost everything. It's a thread that no longer exists however when I go to the "who's online" it says they are reading that thread and when I click on the link to that thread I'm able to view it also. Please help!!! I'm wondering what else they are able to see. We have some forums set up as private, will they be able to view those as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :bbrocks:

BbBoy is working on the trouble now. Some things are fixed and others are being worked on. IF you lost forums they will return but you will need to go in Edit Settings and rename them all. If your Easy Customization settings were lost those are what BbBoy is working on restoring on frost now. Do not SAVE any changes in that screen or it will lose the settings and wipe everything out. It looks wiped out now so as long as you don't save changes it should come back when BbBoy is finished working on it.

Thank you all for your patience and detailed reporting so that we could work to resolve the problems with frost quickly.

I can imagine the frustration for those fixing this mess...we (admin at the boards) might be frustrated also, but we dont bare the responsibility of fixing it...and knowing there are alot of people waiting for it to get fixed.

I really appreciate everyone's understanding, some things happen that are beyond our control. Hardware failure is a reality and trying to recover lost data is no fun. We really exhausted all efforts to try to get back all that was lost but unfotunately not everything was recoverable. I have updated the Current Issues thread and am locking this with my deepest apologies for the trouble and inconvience this put you all through. Those who had paid boards revert or anything else that did not have to do with forums being lost, threads being lost and easy customization settings being wiped out. It is safe now to work to restore your community back to what it was and then make sure you shoot a offline webpage of the Easy Customization screen-so you can recover that-I lost Yugi's Lair's settings and was working with BbBoy all day trying different things and I hate to be the bearer of grim news about something like hardware failure. :sad:

If you had a server side backup from the 29th or possibily the 30th of march you can certainly try using that to restore your community with only the loss of a few days of posts. I will work to help those with paid boards reverting-I think we need to work together on this annoying glitch fellow admins. I am going to lay out a list of board settings that I want you to answer for me in the Bug reports forum so that we can try to see why this continues happening. There has to be some common factor that we can pin down to help know where to turn our attention to fixing. :smile:
