About cgi-bin/ and all of that stuff! ( 01:04:04 ThuJan 31 2002 )

HOw do you create your own cgi-bin file? I want to know. HOw do you create it and how do you upload things on to it. have you ever used a chatroom that didn't need all the coding and everything for it to work. All you have to do it enter one little code and it pops up. Istead of all these steps created files and folders. I don't know how to do most of that stuff.

Can you help me on some stuff about HTMl code and everything. Were you don't have to upload a chatroom you just enter the code and then after you just enter the code you could then later paste it on the forum template and the chatroom appears instead of a link to the chatroom.

Just forget it I am just confused on all this coding stuff. I need major help on HTML and CSS and things. I just learned early 2001.:sad::sad:

If you're wanting CGI/html help, I recommend you post here: http://cultforum.com . There's a lot of knowledgeable people who can help there

Or if you just want an instant plug-in chat room, have a look at http://bravenet.com

How do I get the bravenet code to be embedded on the board? I don't like bravenet because they give you the code to the button and then when you click the button the chatroom opens in a new window. Why is that. How can you find out the code to make the chatroom not pop up and be embedded on the message board. I don't mean like go to another page in the same window with the chatroom I mean the board be actually pasted in the forum? That is what I don't know how to do. If you can help thank you.

I found the chatrooms but I couldn't understand how it said install all the stuff so I just left it alone. I have a bravenet chatroom even though I forgot what is was. I just need to found out how to view the source of the chatroom when it comes open even though I found out that you can't view the coding of a java source because I tried and i didn't work. If you know how then thanx!

ahh,

I didn't think about Bravenet chat opening in a new window. Maybe one of these would be better: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Remotely_Hosted/Chat/ They're all remotely hosted, and one of them must be able to embed into the forum
