Re: notify ( 05:12:32 WedJul 2 2003 )

and I hate to be a pain, but one of my members was checking out support and she saw this thread and read it and clicked on admin and it let her in, so I decided to test it under my husband's name and apparently bb members can click on it and see my admin forum, so can that link be deleted?

What link do you mean? Nobody can get into your admin forum if it's private. Perhaps it's only hidden? If that's the case, anyone can get in if they know the url, or there is a link to it somewhere.

nope, no chilren old enough and it's only happening after I read the thread .. but it never happened to me before I subscribed and then unsubscribed from the forum. And now it's just flooding email and I get like 800 emails a day.. I guess I'll just have to turn spam on and just hope that nothing important comes through  But thanks for all of your help

It sounds to me that she's clicking the "subscribe to new threads in this forum" button at the bottom of those forums and when she goes to unsubscribe, it's still sending the emails.

The two types of subscription (forum and thread) are entirely separate and unconnected, so subscribing to a forum won't subscribe you to a thread and vice versa.

If you are getting 800 emails a day, I'd suggest getting in touch with your ISP or email provider, that definitely sounds crazy - perhaps they are sending you the same stuff over and over...

Re: notify ( 05:33:32 WedJul 2 2003 )

I just checked your bandwidth screen and as of this moment, seven (7) new thread notifications and 162 new reply notifications have gone out this month - that's quite a lot (though it includes every member of your board), but nowhere near 800, so something's obviously wrong with your email receiving system.

Re: notify ( 14:10:19 WedJul 2 2003 )

unfortunatly I don't think that's the problem either because each email I click on has a new reply in it so they don't seem to be repeated emails. But like I said, since it can't be figured out as to why I'll just turn on the spam button and just hope that nothing important has to go through my email from bb boards since it's the email I use for everything but thanks for looking further into it
