Lights Creek
Has anyone prospected in the Lights Creek area?It is just outside of the Taylorsville/Crescent Mills area.Going to head down that way to look at several claims in the area and just wanted to see if anyone had any first hand knowledge of the area.Thanks in advance with any available help.

Haven't prospected Lights Creek itself, but have a claim on a tributary and others nearby, spend a lot of time in the area.

Good gold on Lights, but very heavily claimed and worked. Most claims on the stream have been held for years by the same people.

Be careful in looking at claims for purchase there, research thoroughly the seller. There are operators in the area that are into the mass buying and selling of worthless or questionable claims at premium prices to newbies. Personally, if I were in the market to buy, my first question would be how many claims the seller had sold in the past. If it were a large number, I would be wanting some very solid evidence of quality before putting out my hard earned money for a claim.....

I dredged on lights creek back in the 70's. As I remember I didn't get enough to even pay for gas. Might have been in area too far up.
