Gould Bazooka System ( 06:06:16 MonSep 24 2007 )

I am think about buying the new Gould Bazooka system. It seems to work pretty good as far as the advertisements and testing by various people. I have only talked to two people that has one adn bith of them liked it. Is there anyone else that has some experience with it, good or bad? With my age getting up there and big dredges are getting a little harder to handle, by myself (sometimes).
I would appreciate all comments.

Re: Gould Bazooka System ( 14:21:03 ThuSep 27 2007 )

I have extensive experience with the original Schmidt Bazooka and have found it a great unit if used as it was designed. It is a great light weight prospecting unit that has proven it's self over 15 years in the hands of many prospectors. That seems to be the main problem with the Gould's system. After several years of of expensive advertising by the owner and many scientific tests by the same person, there is still no one that seems to have actually used one. I got to see and hold one of them this summer. My opinion is a lot of thought went into the design, but I seriously question if it will work as well as the original Schmidt unit. Since I did not get to use it that is the only thought I have at this point. You might check http://www.49ermike.com/dc/dcboard.php do a search for Bazooka there has been a lot of discussion on the topic over the years. And please note not one Gould's user has chimed in.

Re: Gould Bazooka System ( 05:34:59 SunSep 30 2007 )

Thank you for the information. I went to 49ermike and there was a lot of information from others that have used the Bazooka, Although I do not think I have enough good information on it to justify purchasing one. Although I like the thought and possiblilties it could offer. I even contacted Gould and they are not willing to have one field tested and have me and other club members send review comments (our findings). That was mentioned on one of the forums also. It lends me to think something is wrong. Gould did tell me that several have been sold in Washington, si I asked for some names or send mty infor to them. I am waiting for his response.

I will still try to find out more about it, before I give up. If further information is on=btain I will post it.
