hi folks, new member will be up this season. have a question on long term camping. do you have to stay at one of the 49er long term sites or can you long term camp on your own. i was looking at several sites but was a little confused.(nothing new)

Unless I misunderstood, Dave told me that we can camp on a claim as long as you are actively mining there.

Our program with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) allows our members to stay in our established long term campgounds longer than the 14-day normal limit.

If you want to stay (camp) in any other place longer than the 14 days, it will likely be necessary to create your own relationship with the USFS.
