Follow Stopher's trail through the ordeal. He made numerous public statements about his desire to save HIS Sacramento River from harm. He spoke of us dredgers as being harmful. He had then and now, no science to support his personal feelings. Under his direction as the CDFG head environmental officer, the department evolved into today's megabeaurocracy. From the top on down his extremly expensive and erronious new employees have been schooled in the shared belief which has successfully killed small scale gold mining in the Golden State.
