Toys??
To keep the boys busy while we are gone I always hide treats for them to find. Recently I found this great toy that "wobbles" when moved by the boys and when it does a treat comes out. They love it. It was supposed to be indestructable. However, it ran out of treats and they apparently thought if they chewed it to pieces they would find more. It was the ebst toy ever!! Anyone know of toy like this that is boxer proof??

Can't help I'm afraid - we bought Gixer a toy that was supposed to keep him occupied. It was a cube that had shapes inside he was supposed to get out. He managed this in 5 mins and looked at me as if to say "im not an idiot" and ripped the cube to bits. Fatal mistake as it was fabric!

Re: Toys??
Gary has got a Kong which he has had for well over a year now. I usually put a few biscuits in and a bonio and sometimes a babybel (cheese) which he loves ......... he manages to get the cheese out very quickly even though it is right at the bottom - don't quite know how he does that as the bonio is sometimes in there for hours!!!

Re: Toys??
The secret of these interactive toys is that once they get the treats out, remove them - until the next time. Over the years I have found that indestructable does not mean they are Boxer proof!!

Tuija: Maybe like Harvey he picks the kong up and "bounces" it down - thereby getting the nice treaties out first!!

Re: Toys??
We have a few of the fabric puzzle toys. Tuck & Tys flew through them too. But they love the smaller toys because they can fit a lot in their mouths at once. Sometimes I think it's a contest to see who can get the most at once.... it's so funny to watch.

I may have to try the Kong. We haven't ever had one of those.

The other one was full when I left it with Tucker but apparently those treats were too easy to get out and that is what made him decided to CHEW the toy instead. I love to watch them play with it. They have a lot of fun knocking it over to see what treat comes out!!

One toy I have found to be boxer proof is the good old ball on a rope! He absoululty loves it! We can play together by doing tug if war and as yet he hasnt destroyed it. It was really cheap as well! (£3 tescos). I can also use it when we go for a walk as its a lot harded to lose this than a lose ball!

Re: Toys??
I always look out for the toys that are advertised as indestructible - doesn't mean they actually are, just means they will last a bit longer than normal toys with a boxer - well worth the little extra they cost! I agree that taking toys away from them stops them getting bored and destroying the actual toys! My three have their regular toy box full of cheap tennis balls, rope toys and chewed up squeakies that they can help themselves to whenever they want, however their decent toys live in the cupboard and come out on occasions. Means they always have something different to look forward to ........and something cheap to chew if they feel like it!

Re: Toys??
BoxerMad, we have gone to this method also. Since I have been separating the boys during the day (mostly for Tyson's sanity) they also each have their own toys when they aren't together. Tyson loves stuffed animals and doesn't chew them to peices but Tucker on the other hand does. So Tyson has a few that only come out when he is at home by himself.

We have a big ball on a rope that Tucker loves. It was supposed to be indestructible and although it still does its purpose for now..he has managed to puncture the ball and what was once a hard ball has became a ball that can now deflate...we will see how much longer that one lasts!!

Re: Toys??
I am fast learning that boxer proof toys are the same as parrot proof toys - non existant!

Re: Toys??
I bought them Kongs. They love them! I love them too. I give them to them while I am watching a program on TV and they are quiet for a little bit... at least until the treats are gone! But it's bliss! They are really great for Tucker who is still in his glorious "chewing" stage.

Re: Toys??
With relation to the Kongs I have been given the adivce of filling them with wet food and freezing them. It makes the food last longer and its a difference texture/sensastion for them. Great!
