Cruelty to boxers - again don't look if easily upset!!

Read in the paper yesterday about a woman from south wales who had a 7 month old Boxer pup.

She was in court for cruelty to animals due to the fact that her pup had swallowed a toddlers dummy. So most normal people would ring the vet, RSPCa or similair if you cannot afford treatment.

She acknowledged in court that she knew the RSPCA would provide FOC treatment but had neglected to contact them.

The outcome is pretty horiffic - the poor pup suffered for 7 days in agony and died from internal injuries (the dummy had perforated the bowel causing blood poisoning).

Reading the story made my blood boil - the young mother in question did not receive any time in jail and was banned from keeping a pet for 5 years.

She should have been shot in my opinion - how can anyone let any dog suffer like that?????????

Sorry it's such a sad post.

Maybe not shot Paul but punishment far too soft. We should go along the lines of the americans. They arrest them and put them in jail plus fines. I think if more were given hefty fines and I mean hefty say in 4-figures, it would make them think. Hit them where it hurts most - in the pocket.

Some people just don't care enough!!

There we are trying to find the best ways to make our babies happy with advent calendars, squeaky toys etc etc and you get people like that who don't care about the basic right of all - their health.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Helen - you going soft on me?? I was thinking along the lines of a 12 bore from long range just to drag it out a bit - maybe then people like this would appreciate the pain their pets have endured at their hands.

Harsh I know, but if they can do that to an animal what chance have the kids got????????

OMG she should be made to swallow one. Then with hole medical treatment and make her pass the jaggy end from her bottom. AND I'm being polite because I wouldnt be held responcible if I got my hands of that febal exuse of a human!
Tell me though, how can they stop her from going to a breeder and getting another dog? Would they watch her and lift it if they saw her with another dog. That bit puzzles me/ having a blond day.

That's the part that pee's me off jacquie - who's going to go around and check up on her, the answer more likely than not is no one!! So no doubt before too long she will have another animal in her "care"!!!!
