9 month old boxer

There was an add in the paper for a 9 month old boxer. They said they are giving him away because they are moving to an apartment where animals are not allowed. Im going to take a looksie at him tomorrow!:luck:

Re: 9 month old boxer

Hi everyone!! You guys are too sweet! Well....we brought Peetie with us to go see him. When we walked in and I saw him I thought he was absolutely perfect! He was all red with little white feet and a black face...very handsome, but he was very agressive. He was growling and jumping all over Peetie and biting him, and my poor Peetie didn't even know what to do. Peetie jumped in my lap. So I don't think hes the one for us. It would be best for him to be placed in a home without any other animals. Thank you guys so much for your kind words. Do you think Peetie might be best with a female boxer? Well I am going to keep looking for a new baby for Peetie to play with!

Such a shame it didn't work out. :ohwell:

I wouldn't worry too much about what sex boxer you get to be honest Sara, as long as they get on. I rehomed a boy with another boy recently and they are the best of friends now.

The one that sometimes doesn't work too well is girls with girls because they both want to be boss  The worse scenario is two girls who haven't been spayed - they will always fight!!

Sounds like this other dog just didn't like others. Peetie doesn't have a problem with other dogs, so it will just be a case of finding the right match for him

Sorry to hear it did not work out this time either. I'm sure there will be more, and one of those will be the right one.

A nine month old pup should still be excited about meeting other dogs? Tizzy gets narky if she is confined and feels threatened, especially if she is on the lead, but that's normal.

Sounds as if something has happened to him :ohwell:

Re: 9 month old boxer

Its maybe fear aggression, they have been attacked by another dog when younger and it makes them want to get the other dogs first before "they" are got. Sometimes its better to meet another dog in neutral ground like a park or field rather than in their own home. Im sure there is another dog out there that will be the perfect friend for your boy.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's relatively unusual to have an aggressive young dog. Shame it didn't work out though

I couldn't take him, Peetie is my top priority, he was actually biting him and Peetie was crying!!! Peetie plays with all the dogs in the neighborhood and they all play bite but never does he cry!! I wouldn't let anyone hurt my Prince Peetie!!!!!
