Jacquie rang me today about a 10 month old baby whose kennels in Penrith. Yep, im keen to take her,but need suggestions as to how i convince Mike this is a really good idea! Hell i think two dogs are no more work than one, and im sure Heskey will think its great (though not too sure about the cat who is still living upstairs!!) Jacquie says i should use my feminine wiles but i think Mikes learnt how to ignore those while still saying no! How about "Free to good home - one slightly shop soiled 44yr old male"??

Just do what Jacquie did - say you are fostering him and then just wait til Mike falls in love!!
A few tears never go amiss either ![]()

Our cats are still living upstairs after over two years!!! Karen's suggestion of saying you're fostering is a good one, he'll soon fall in love with her and think it was his decision

Me and rob were just reading this post together (mistake) He now wants to know, why do you need to convince Mike, he thinks the woman decides and the man just has to go along with it lol

I have to agree totally with the above. Foster the bitch, let him handle her, and before you know it they will bond, sorted. he will not let her go.( Just like an Aupair. LOL)
As for the cat issue, that's tough. It's a personal moral and humane right's problem. Is the cat living in terror of the monster(s) down stairs. Fairness for everyone will be a tricky decision. Good luck in getting it right, 'cause you will never please everyone |

Oh god hes being so sensible. He thinks we should a)get the dog and the cat sorted and b)get the dogs dangly bits removed before we bring a girlie in who might reproduce! Oh i hate him with a vengance and am desperately trying to think of a way of getting round him....wonder if lots of beer would work. I still have some diazepam left over from Jake, i suppose i could doctor Mikes coffee and sneak her in!!

Or get him drunk! Then in the morning, when you bring her home you can say, but you said it was ok last night, Remember darling!!!!!

Unfortunately its me that tends to get drunk, and have very little recollection of the night before!! Did the cat and dog thing this evening (thought we had better crack on with it). Heskey coping ok,but oh isnt that ginger furry thing just sooo exciting! Archie decided it was a good time to pee himself!! Still, no fur flying and all animals intact. Mike could be giving in just a little bit cos wanted to know what colour the wee one is.......holding breath and crossing everything that he gives in fairly soon

KIck him in the privates very hard and when his say's "what's that for" tell him a starter for 10 if he doesn't let you have another boxer!!
Lynne would just give me one of her fluttery eye lash looks and get her own way - I must be a soft touch. Paul |

He has finally agreed that once Heskey has had his "little" operation and has settled down (fool if he thinks that will ever happen!!) we will start looking for another dog. Heskey is booked in for the 1st July so i recon we will be looking come September time (unless Jacquie comes up with something a little sooner!!!!). Quite like Pauls suggestion and may well do that just for the hell of it!!
