Still not sure if this is a good idea or not
![]() My brother, his wife and kids are going away for two weeks to the Maldives tomorrow. I agreed months ago that we would look after their dog whilst they were away. A one year old staffie called Koko - she is absolutely gorgeous and really well behaved. About 6 weeks ago they also got a new puppy - a male staffie, they knew the timing wasn't very good as they were going away but they just fell in love with him. The plan was for the puppy to go to my sister in laws mum. However last week they asked me if we would also have the puppy as her mum lives in a flat and they are worried about the puppy going onto the balcony and also that they knew they would be able to relax and not worry about the dogs if they were with us as they have seen how spoilt ours are. I agreed - then afterwards thought to myself - What have i done????? ![]() My house is going to be absolutely mad for the next two weeks ![]() They have a crate for the pup which Koko also sleeps in but i have never really been a fan of crates but i suppose with the puppy being so young it would be safer in that whilst we are asleep or out as they told me that they caught the puppy chewing through electrical wires ![]() I will feel bad though as ours have the run of the house (except the living room) all of the time. I have no idea how we are going to get around feeding either as theirs are on completely different food to ours and all of them are used to having food left down all day. I think they are just going to have to get on with it - I am sure none of them will starve. Oh well - its only for two weeks and i am sure Henry & Busta won't mind having some new friends to play with - and Kirei won't mind as long as they don't try to lay on her cushion ![]() I have told my brother not to expect theirs to have any manners by the time they come back - after spending 2 weeks with 3 mad boxers. Any advice on how not to go insane would be very much appreciated - they will be arriving around midday tomorrow! ![]()

You must be mad Caroline, our house is chaotic when we have one Staffie and Daz in it.
Hopefully they may tire themselves out by playing. 2 weeks!! Perish the thought. Good luck.

Good luck, rather you than me, although in saying that, I think they might tire each other out after a while.

You must be mad! Absolutely mad!! Book your spa now

They have arrived
![]() They arrived this morning around 11am.The first hour was comple chaos - all chasing each other around, a few snaps at each other (they have all met previously) to determine who was top dog - (Kirei of course) - now they are all worn out and sleeping - It is so peaceful. I have a presentation to do on Wednesday for a training course i am doing through work (Proffesional trainers certificate) which needs a lot of work. I intended to get as much done as i could yesterday, before they arrived today but we ended up going to Brendans mums for the afternoon and i didn't even start it. Hopefully i can get a good start on it now before they all liven up again. I wish i was going with my brother and his family on holiday. 2 weeks in the Maldives in a water bungalow. Complete 5 star luxury. They have a Limo picking them up to take them to the airport which my brother has arranged as a surprise for his wife - she thinks her dad is taking them. Their children are 10 years old and 8 years old and have never been abroad before so they are really looking forward to going on a plane for the first time and the Limo will be a nice surprise for them too. ![]() Oh well the first two hours have gone ok - only 14 more days to go. Wish me luck Caroline

Well the first night went well.
The puppy is really clean considering he is only 14 weeks old - they have a dog flap in their back door so he can get out whenever he wants - we just leave our back door pulled closed so that they can push it open if they need to (bit annoying though as we are forever getting up to close it again after them now the weather is getting colder). Puppy hasn't had one accident since he has been here. I will try to get some pictures of them all together to post in the next couple of days. Just need to get this assessment out of the way on Wednesday and i will have a bit more time. I have bribed all of them with chewy bars at the moment - bit of growling over who was having what one to start with but now they have all settled down and are happily chewing away Lets hope the next 13 days go as well

Hope you are having fun.. Mine is a bit like a mad house at the minute too. I have a Foster Girl aged 19 weeks like KC. They get on great and I will miss her when she goes to her new home.Think Lucy and Tyler will be pleased as Tyler only just tolerates KC.
![]() My house is always cold as well. All the doors open so they can go out anytime. Good Luck with your Assessment.

DEFINATELY NOT - Brendan and i decided on the first day that three dogs is definately enough - however if it had been a boxer puppy come to stay................. No - I am not even going to think about it![]()
Thanks Carol - I will be glad when it is all over - as much as i have enjoyed the course and a change from work, the timing hasn't been too good. How am i supposed to sit on the floor and prepare a flip chart and posters etc with 5 dogs running around. Roll on tomorrow afternoon.............

Hi Carol
I was tearing my hair out in the first few days but i must admit it has got a bit better. The thing is i am so used to having bigger dogs that i keep tripping over them. At least with Boxers if they get in your way you know about it. ![]() Halfway there now. My brother has been gone a week so just one more week to go. Brendan has suffered more than me as he has been on night shifts for the last week so he tries to go to bed at around 11am and he said the puppy just whines all the time till i get home at 3pm. At least at night they settle down to go to sleep themselves. Definately been an experience (that i don't think we will ever repeat:doh As for poop scoop time...................................

Dogs have finally all settled down now - my brothers two will be going home in a couple of days. I know they come back Monday but i can't remember what time. I have a feeling it is late Monday night - therefore we will probably have theirs here until Tuesday.
Haven't managed to get any pictures of them all together as they haven't stayed still for long enough ![]() I will be so relieved once they have gone home and Brendan has already said 'never again'. The thing that has affected me the most is after dinner we all normally sit down to relax together including the dogs - they come up for a cuddle on the sofa and it is our 'chill out' time - This is the time that my Brothers two want to play. They go charging around up and down the stairs, straight across us sitting on the sofa. The only way to stop them is by putting them back in their crate which i don't like to do as they need to burn off their energy. If i let them out the garden they make so much noise that i am worried what the neighbours will say. I don't want to be reported to the council for having 5 dogs living here. So its a case of put up with it. I always tell them off when they charge across the sofa but it just doesn't stop them. I don't know if they are allowed to do this at home - they are always really calm when i go round there ![]() We have had to try to keep the puppy away from Busta as much as possible as well. He has cut all of Busta's face and under his neck where he has been 'hanging off his face'. He is only playing - its not viscious but his teeth are like needles and once he grabs hold of him he won't let go and starts shaking his head to get a better grip - Poor Busta has got really thick scabs all under his chin, down his neck and on the side of his face - the thing is he seems to like playing with him, he just yelps when the pup gets a bit rough. I think Henry has seen what is happeneing and if the Puppy tries it with him - he just tells him off straight away Only a couple more days to go - I thought Boxers were supposed to be lively - ours are so calm compared to the other two

You will enjoy the peace and quiete once they've gone.
I miss my little Foster and KC didnt know what had happened for a couple of days. Have to agree though 3 Boxers is more than enough. It has taken us a few days to get ours back into their own routine, but things are back to normal now. Would I do it again. Errm......Course I would cos we are all as daft as a brush. Bet if your brother asked again you would still do it. Feel guilty now though as I cant Foster over Xmas as I dont know how many of my own pups will be visiting. Hope I dont have to Pup sit for them all at once.
