Thanks for all your good wishes. I have just got home with Henry and he is not a happy puppy. But everything went well with both his ops which is the main thing.
When i went to pick him up i thought he would come bounding out to me like Tia did after her operation but he just wandered out with his head down. He had only woken up from the anaesthetic about an hour before and he still wasn't really with it. He just looked at me with a really sad face and i felt so sorry for him - although when i said 'oh my poor little Henry Monster' he did wag his tail slightly. His eye looks really good - a tiny bit swollen but like nothing has really happened to it except the lump has gone of course and he has three stitches down the other end but i think he is a little sore down there as when i moved his leg a bit to have a look he had a little whimper. He is sleeping at the moment - i bought him in and tried to get him to rest for a while before i let the other two in from the garden but he just kept going to the door and i thought he is not going to settle until he sees them so they are all cuddled up on the sofa together at the moment. I think he is really hungry as well but i was told not to feed him until about 7pm so hopefully he will sleep until then. He was not happy when he didn't get any food this morning. He has got some cream for his eye and some antibiotics and has to go back on Friday so they can see how his eye is and then back the following Friday to have his stitches out. When i went to pick him up the receptionist sid that all the girls from the kennels that is attached to the vet had fallen in love with him - she had been telling them about when he was two weeks old and we didn't think he would survive - she was on reception that night - and he has still got a 'cuddle me' tag on his collar from when he was a tiny puppy so he was getting cuddles from them all before his op. Anyway good luck to the two Sasha's for their ops this week - hope everything goes as well for them as it has for Henry. Caroline, Tia, Kirei and the poorly sore Henry Monster xxxx

Aww bless him. I am sure any man reading this can understand why he didn't come bounding out!! Mind you, he is probably just being a typical male and make the most of the attention and piling on the pity!!
Glad his eye is ok, sounds like they have done a grand job on it if you can't hardly tell it's been operated on!! Let us know how he progresses! Sasha didn't eat until after mid-day the following day after her last op, so don't stress if he doesn't eat - mind you, it sounds like he is already ready for food!! Big kisses to him, at least it sounds like he isn't sulking with you for removing his manhood! Karen |

I really don't think he would have the energy to sulk with anyone at the moment.
I am so pleased with his eye though, even though the vet told us how they would do the op on our last visit i think you always think the worst. i really was expecting it to be a lot more noticeable to start with but unless you knew he had a problem with his eye i really don't think you could notice it now. Here is a picture of him 'recovering' - he didn't even have the energy to open his eyes properly for the photograph - poor thing!! ![]() Caroline, Tia, Kirei and poorly sore Henry Monster xxxx

I have some calpol ready just incase but he seems fine now.
He has eaten a big bowl of food, but now he won't leave my side. Everywhere i go he comes with me - including to the toilet!!! Usually they don't go upstairs but he is just following me everywhere at the moment. I don't mind though i am getting lots of lovely cuddles off him. I have to let him out the garden seperate to the others at the moment as he wants to run around and play already. So much for feeling sorry for him - he is acting as if nothing happened already!!!! Henry is feeling a lot better today.
He seems completely back to his normal self. He was first to the back door when i got up this morning as usual, but we are having to let him out seperately to Tia and Kirei because he just wants to run around and play and they just encourage him. He ate all his food this morning before i left for work and gave me my usual big sloppy kiss and cuddle before i left. I still told him to be good as i walked out the door. He may be poorly but that doesn't mean he is allowed to misbehave!!!! Caroline, Tia, Kirei and the Henry Monster xxxx

Good news Caroline - not a nice op for him, before you know it he will be 110% again and you will wonder what all the fuss was about. Rather him than me having the snip, painful!!!!!!!
Just think if it was a bloke he would take about 2 weeks to recover and would really play on it!! Speak soon, Paul |

I am quite surprised you said that Paul about men really playing on it
If i said that to my husband he would deny it for ages and probably get in a strop about it!!!! A man admitting mens weaknesses I am impressed!!! Henry is doing great - unless you saw his stitches you would never know he had an operation yesterday!!! He is back to being the little troublemaker he has always been. Definately no sign of him going off his food - although i wonder how he will feel walking back into the vets on Friday for a check up on his eye???????? Henry has just got back from a check up at the vets and everything is fine - he has been given a few more antibiotics for his eye to prevent any infection and hasn't touched his stitches.
He goes back next Friday to have his stitches out. I was quite surprised that when i pulled up at the vets in the car he seemed really eager to get in there - but he got halfway through the door and realised exactly where he was and tried dragging me straight back out again. Whilst we were waiting another older dog came in and took an instant dislike to Henry - so Henry seemed determined to wind him up - gradually creeping closer and closer whist the other dog was watching him out of the corner of his eye growling at him. If only everyone had boxers the world would be a much happier place!!!! Caroline, Tia, Kirei and the Henry Monster xxxx

Aw bless him! They are just like naughty children sometimes arent they!!
Glad to hear he is doing so well and hope all goes ok on Friday with his stitches. Despite this being Sasha's third surgery, she hasn't learnt to be wary of the vets yet?? She still drags me in there, and rather than go to the consulting rooms, she always wants to get down to the cages - I think she enjoys the fuss they make of her!! Well done Henry for leaving his stitches alone! Karen |

Henry went to the vets on Friday to have his stitches out and everything has healed up nicely.
He has to go continue having his eye drops three times a day for a month and then go back to see the vet at the end of May just to check that everything is OK with his eye. He is so good - when he sees me pick up the drops he goes to lie on the settee so that i can put them in and he just lays there while i do it - I think it is because he knows he will get lots of attention afterwards - and I always get a big sloppy kiss from him - well more of a swipe right across my face - its as if he is saying 'thank you for looking after me'!!! He is just so sweet!! Caroline, Tia, kirei and Henry Monster xxxx
