Does anyone have a leather suite, if so how boxer proof are they? thinking of claws. We were talking about settees (and clothes) permenantly covered in hairs & wondered whether leather was the way to go

We had a fabric suite and it got sooo dirty from the dogs lying up against it...now got a brown leather suite, it's got one small claw mark from the cat..but nothing from the dogs, we put blankeys on the sofa if they get up for cuddles, and hoover them off if they get hair on em, also able to give them a wipe off if they get dirty..would recommend them...get a dark colour though!

My Mum has leather suites and she gets very precious about it when the dogs are there because she is convinced they will scratch it - mind you she is the same with the kids
![]() I have fabric but then I don't like leather suites ![]() ![]()

I have leather and it gets filthy but there are no scratches on it. I wouldn't recommend getting a very soft leather though because I think it might scratch. Mine is cream and it forever looks grubby but I suppose at least it can wipe. I'm hoping to get a black one later this year.
Another option would be to keep the dog off the couch ![]()

Thanks for your replies, sounds like it could definitely be the way to go - as to keeping Polo off hte settee that was the original plan except our eldest daughter used to pick him up when he was little so he could sit with her, saying he wasn't on the sette, he was on her knee

We have a green leather suite also. Very easy to keep clean and very hard wearing. Daz has left no scratches on it, but his friend Marley, a young Staffie girl, has torn a hole in one of the cusions. Marley is always hyper, never stops darting around like she is on fire.
![]() Here is a very rare shot of Marley sitting still, must be just afer a long walk. ![]() ![]()

We have a chocolate couloured leather sofa - is it a god send.......................... you'd better believe it is!
Do our two sleep on it, climb on it................. oh yes, but however their are no scrates ![]() Would never go back to a fabric sofa. A quick hoover and a clean with the magic wipes and it's as good as new! Oh by the way - top tip if you have a leather sofa, use Baby wipes to clean it, they are soft, contain no nasty chemicals and some contain conditioners to soften skin so work a treat on leather ![]() Here are my two all cuddles up on their italian leather sofa ![]() See how they love it ![]() Regards Paul |
