Am a boring old fart, we don't do Valentine's Day, in fact Rob bought me flowers last night after my interview with the Samaritans as he knew I would be nervous!

Prefer to get my treats because I deserve them lol

Daytime tv is so rubbish - I very rarely watch it as i am normally at work, but as i am at home looking after Henry this week i have put it on a couple of mornings, i have no idea how people watch it day after day!

The people on the Jeremy Kyle show seem to have no idea how stupid they are making themselves look and it seems they will do anything to get 5 minutes of fame on tv!!

I am off to dig out a good book - can't watch this rubbish no more!!!:ohwell:

I always know when I am really poorly, if I am end up watching Jeremy Kyle. I have seen me laid on sofa too knackered to press the remote control lol.

I don't watch daytime telly if I can help it to be honest. I spend time on the computer or watch things I have recorded.

I do watch Loose Women sometimes though!

Who will be having pancakes on Tuesday?

I have already had them for breakfast the last couple of mornings - lashings of lemon juice and sugar, absolutely love them!!!

I do cheat though, Brendan doesn't like them, so it's only me. I buy the ready made ones which go in the microwave for 30 seconds.............saves on so much mess!!!

Re: General nattering

Yes, you get them from the chiller cabinet - they do sweet or plain and you just pop one on a plate for 30 seconds and its done - they are really nice too. Not sure how much they are normally, but Sainsbury's have them on special offer for 1 a pack (6 in a pack) - saves on so much mess and they are delicious!!

Re: General nattering

Didnt see them in ASDA but never mind I will make some tomorrow all being well. Have to go into Newtownards early for the bank and should get home before lunch so will have a go then. Making me feel hungry now

Mum + I were at the local shopping centre today and called into a cafe for a sandwich. I wont get into details but sufficient to say we just made it home in time - obviously got food poisoning of some type. Definitely wont be eating there again..........

Oh no - hope you are okay now!!

The staff need to come on one of my training courses - got three Level 2 Food Safety courses to train next week!!! Lol

Enjoy the pancakes when you get them - was disappointed today, went into Sainsburys after work and they had sold out of my microwave ones -couldn't be bothered with the hassle of making my own so will wait a couple of days - can't complain i have already had some this week!!

Re: General nattering

We are fine again thanks the only "common" thing we had was a side salad with about a teasp of coleslaw on it so think that was the guilty food.

In the end bought pancakes [scotch ones] and they were delicious, its an excellent bakery. Sis in law was here tonight and talking about the other ones - skinny ones as I call them with sugar and butter and nothing will stop me now until I get some with sugar and lemon so out with the cookery books tomorrow

Re: General nattering

We had pancakes but someone said they were crepes lol. These are the type we always make, and traditionally have them with lemon and sugar.

I prefer to have Scotch pancakes toasted with jam or ice cream (or both!) But we have them so often, that they aren't really a treat nowadays lol

Sorry I haven't been on much recently, have had some horrible, stressful stuff going on. Am hoping it's settled again now, fingers crossed!

Hubby heads off to Afghanistan on the 5th April for four months. Have to say, I am bricking it as to how I will cope without him here to help me. I have my cleaner, dog walker and now a volunteer in place to help me out, but it's different when it's not your main "carer"! Oh well, not much I can do about it is there, so no point in mumping.

Spring is here!! :cheering::cheering::cheering:

My sister in law calls the skinny pancakes Crepes as well!

The guy is coming tomorrow at 08.30am to start the Cat Run. It will take him 3 days. He wanted to come at 08.00am but put him off. Its going to bea nightmare organising the cats and dogs. He is scared of dogs even super friendly ones like ours. Potty trips will be awkward as ours will only toilet in their own garden. Harvey never wees outside . The kittens will be very indignant because they will want out in the utility room and sun room. Beginning to wish I wasnot going to get it done now as mum [89] has decided she isnt very happy about it

Still very cold here with heavy rain which will be pretty dangerous if it freezes overnight

All the animals are in here with me, sign of severe cold

Hospital phoned today, they want mum in tomorrow at 5pm which isn't bad as it means getting home earlier.

Tim our eldest cat at 19 months caught a mouse in the house yesterday: thankfully it was dead when he showed it to me proudly! This is despite the ultrasonic rodent repellers which are in situ, his nickname is now "mouser"
