Volks-Swap :: The Ford Conversion

Hi all, new to this board, Just got me a 69 beetle and looking to make a fast ride with it.

I really like the 2.3 swap kit, and I was thinking of a Turbo, blow-thru, 2.3. I used to work for a carb company in St. Charles MO. and I have a turbocharged Ford Fairmont and it works pretty good on it so I'm building a 500 2 barrel.

I had a few question and hopefully some on here can help.
-does the 2.3 just hang off the transfer case, can you fab up a engine mount on the sides like the factory ones.
-How does the transfer cases hold up to the torque, I was thing I should make about 390-400 at the tire, Its a friend old set up from his SVO, does some make a case to hold that kind of power
-does someone make a automatic for it
-can the transfer case be made to go in backwards, Mid-engine like a 914
-how much do these cars weight, I would guess they are lite, but how lite.
